I believe Mr. Swanson was referring to you (and other pool fans) as the "B" players and the comment went over (or by) your head.

Correct, although it was related to mr.azb rather than anyone specific.

No comments or confirmation of his 227 run? Sounds like a pretty freakish effort for a guy who has hardly played that game. I imagine he was running around the table.

He ran the 227 in the qualifying rounds of the Derby City Straight Pool Challenge. It is the highest run ever in competition. I have the video and will be uploading it to YouTube eventually.

It only took 55 minutes and he missed with an open table with 12 balls on the table.

Jayson is a good kid and should do whatever he thinks is best for himself and his family. His buddy Darren Appleton is in the finals in Chinese 8 ball. It has to make him consider as he knows Darren's speed compared to his.

Ralf,Thorsten, Corey, Max and many others are over there and no one criticizes them. Nothing wrong with taking a shot at a real payday. I was asking Alex P. Why he didn't go, with his snooker background. He said he couldn't get a visa.

The mans got skills, that is for sure. For him to do so well at american pool, after such a short time competing here, is obvious proof that aptitude can triumph over wet ears.

The folk you mention didn't throw a public hissy fit over their pool day.

I am sure that he doesn't care where I shoot pool, and I sure do not care where he shoots pool-have a nice life

I think you may have over-reacted to a line Jayson threw out there when he saw his pal, Darren going so deep in Chinese 8 ball.

In the meantime, he mentioned to me on Facebook that he looks forward to playing in our 14.1 Challenge next year, so perhaps you jumped the gun a bit, taking an off hand remark at face value.;)

That is probably true, that I did ASSign the serious hat to what was likely an offhandedly remark about jayson's choice to dcc, rather than China. I retrospect, that seems very plausible, that he would regret not going.

He'll probably run to 525, then unscrew because he's sleepy and the 9-ball is more important to him.

At least he's sticking with U.S. pool long enough to do the USBTC. I'm not sure if it's just Reno or if he's doing the "west coast swing" thing and hitting Swanee and Markulis on the way.

Pool is tough in the U.S and I spoke with Alex Pagulayan about him playing snooker and he told me he might be too old to make the switch and be competitive. Jayson needs to just gamble it up a little more and he might be happier than just trying to grind it out on the circuit. Efren seems to be doing Ok don't you think. Try playing a few more games and see how it goes before you decide to pack it in.

IMHO, it is English 8 ball (E8B) rather than snooker background that is advantage in Chinese 8 ball as evidenced by the top finishers in the recent World Chinese 8 ball event and previous Chinese 8 ball events. Only 2 full time snooker pros, Robertson and Selby made it to last 16 and they have E8B background . Many snooker big names knocked out before last 16 like Mark Williams, Shaun Murphy, Graeme Dott, Mark King, John Higgins, Barry Hawkins, Joe Perry

Jayson posted something after being frustrated at how he did in rotation games.
It's a lot better than quitting during a match like John Schmidt did in 14.1 vs Jayson at the Derby.
And he was picked to represent the USA on ability and character, even though he has quit matches a number of times in pro tournaments.
Give Jayson a break, he's great for the game, he's definitely not boring.
He will be back, once he thinks about it for a bit.

Careful what you wish for.....:)

In pool there is no such thing as low hanging fruit.

The Chinese and Taiwanese players are the best in the World !!!!!

Is Jayson going to sell his Chinese table too, when he doesn't place?

Someone get Jayson a reminder band....
