Jayson Shaw v Corey Deuel 8ball race to 21 on July22 - A mismatch ?

I don't see Corey as a big underdog here. Perhaps not an underdog at all. Corey has been playing some good pool for the last couple years, and I've seen him play some damn good 8 ball.

Personally, I think Shaw would crush Deuel in a long nine or ten ball race right now on a big table. Of course, on a small table, such a match would be a waste of time.

Eight ball, on the other hand, plays quite well on the bar box, becoming far more tactical and a bit less about shooting skills. Deuel is clearly the superior tactician to Shaw although Shaw will likely outbreak him. Deuel showed solid eight ball form in Deuel/Dechaine vs. Bustamante/Reyes in 2014, won quite handily by the Americans in a scotch doubles format.

I think this will be very close. I'll guess Shaw 21 Deuel 18.

Table Size

All live streamed matches (i.e. Challenge Matches, US Open 10-Ball, US Open 8-Ball, and the free amateur matches will be played on 7ft tables).

Stay tunes, we have another exciting challenge match to announce next week!

Since the table sizes are being reduced by about 22.22%, will this be reflected in the price as well?

Never mind it looks like the price actually went up $0.04 this year. Obviously not a large amount, but I wouldn't have expected any increase with all of the money being saved by switching to the 7' tables.

Prices

We will be announcing all of the PPV prices soon and I think you will be very happy to see significant reductions in almost every package. Stay tuned...

Corey won the Chinook Winds Casino 8 ball , Jayson was there , SVB etc , he won the 4 Bears Casino tourny with a large field a year ago and made a great shot to win it . Double dipped John Morra at Chinook .

I was at 4 Bears and the shot was amazing. Watched him play a lot of 8 ball that weekend. He can play with anyone in 8 ball.

LOL that is a good one
Actually reduction in price should be 40% (7x3.5=24.5 sq ft reduced from 9x4.5=40.5ft)
Will need a smaller screen to watch it :D

Good luck with the destruction of what is left of "professional" pool in the USA, I think you are on the right path with this change.

I don't believe that this match will be as one-sided as you think. Jayson possesses shear shot-making ability and his experience in English 8-ball tells us he is no stranger to the game. That being said, 8-ball is an imaginative game at the pro level and Corey Deuel may be one of, if not the most imaginative player in the world. I believe this will be a tight race.

I like CSI, but I skip past any 7 footer table action. It looks to me like pro golfers using the "women's tees" or NBA teams playing on a half-court play yard.

There are tons of great players on YouTube on the US bar table championship, played on nice Diamonds. I watched maybe one match of that.

I think I'd rather watch The Hustlers matches than pros on 7 footers.

Maybe if they were setup with 4" pockets, slow cloth and alternate breaks then it may be possible to make a 7 footer table pro level equipment.

I agree that they should play on a big table no matter the game. However, I think 10 ball maybe the most difficult bar table game- even more so than 8 ball. I bet if stats were collected from the US bar table championships, the lowest break and run percentage would be for 10 ball.

I am all about 8 ball being played on bar tables. The us open 8 ball should be on bar tables. The only thing that makes 8 ball challenging on the 7 footer is CLUSTERS.

10 ball and any other rotation games should be on nine foot tables only as the only thing that makes those games more difficult for the pros is DISTANCE.

I think there are more ties ups in 10 ball on the 7 footer than on the 9 footer. It is actually a pretty challenging game on a bar table- especially if 2-3 balls aren't made on the break
