That's awesome that Jeanette does this. Also, to comment on the small crowd, I was there in 2003 and Souda Bay was a really small base that doesn't really have too many people stationed there, maybe 200. For example, I think the main shopping area on base was the size of a 7 eleven.

Wish I could get some one on one with her.
And I just left Bahrain too.. dangit!!

Thanks for doing this Jeanette.

For folks that don't already know; JL has done this every year for the past 7 or 8 years. Takes several weeks away from her family for whirlwind tours of Asia, the Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East - almost a different base or two every day (leaving her family at home). The soldiers really appreciate it, as her exhibitions and challenge matches are always very high energy.

I'm not sure of the compensation, but there is little to none (though travel costs are on the military).

My compliments to a great pool ambassador; the troops definitely deserve the entertainment.

Would be cool if other pros got involved in this..........

There have been other pros involved with the military...overseas and on US soil.

I know that Ewa has done overseas military exhibitions. As does Mike Massey. (And Jen Barretta and I have looked into it...but it is tough to find the right connections.)

As for here in the US...many of the WPBA girls go visit Miramar (while here for the San Diego Classic) to do exhibitions/challenge matches with the troops. Also...I thought I read something about Tony Crosby entertaining troops at a base down in Florida.

I think that most pros would be willing to give some time to the men and women who risk their lives to protect us. If anyone out there in the military wants to try and set something up...you should research pros in your area and then don't be afraid to contact them! I know that I would be honored if I was asked again!

There are others that would. But no one in the world knows who they are. Mrs. Lee is about ALL anyone knows about Professional Pool.

"Oh what that Black Widow Chicks name?"

Hear it all the time.
