Jeff Mohl 35 and 55

Thanks alot for giving me some pool to watch tonight Dennis..

I really love to watch jeff shoot, as you know I had the honor of playing jeff in the 2010 worlds 14.1 he shoots a very admirable game with a nice old school type of style.

Try to talk jeff into signing up for AZ, we would all like to get to know him and pick his brain a little bit.

Thanks
Steve

Thanks for posting Dennis. Again I say that I'm jealous of the great rooms you have out there to play in. If I'm ever out that way I'm going to make it a point to play some with everyone.

No crazy music, noticed a few others walking around seems a nice quiet (older) crowd who enjoy straight pool. Everyone seemed to be wearing their pants around their waist instead of their knees. Ahh, the good olde days. Brings back memories. I'd surely be playing again if I had that kind of environment to look forward to playing in.

Dennis:
Thanks for posting. I only watched the 35 ball run. Will watch the other later. Jeff is a good player and it is easy to tell that he is by watching this short run. First group of balls were a mess and he ended up with a very high break shot. I liked the way he shot it. He did not over power the shot. Made sure the object ball went in and let the cue ball go into the rack with enough speed. Very well played. As for the end of the run. I seen that scratch coming b/c I have done that many times with that same shot to end runs. One is never too old to learn.

Dennis - thanks for sharing these videos. Jeff has such awesome command and control of the table - it is always fun to watch and learn from watching him.

Just watched both of the clips....Thanks Dennis !!

One thing i admire about Jeff's game is that everything is always the same... His Mannerisms, Timing, Chalking and Preshot routine !!!
Jeff does not overdo anything, keeps the game real simple, i think thats something we all lose sight of !

On a side note:

Dennis are you okay, i noticed a real bad limp. Back acting up again ? you need to work on a good stretching regimen, as you know i have chronic back problems too. and the stretching has helped immensely !!!

Thanks
-Steve

Jeff is playing pretty solid right now. Couple of 30s each game. We had a little round robin practice session yesterday and he beat Latimer, Cozzolino and me.

Latimer had a 48, Coz a 30 and me my usual 20.

Jeff Mohl 55 ball run etc

Dennis I want to thank you for posting my runs from the league play at IBC. The comments from other respected players are gratifying, particularly from great students of the game like BlackJack. You really do a lot for straight pool and we all appreciate your contributions to the sport. Jeff Mohl

beautiful, elegant playing, an inspiration as to what real control of All the balls can be...

thank you, Dennis!

Take a look at his four consecutive innings in that 55 game:

2 (12) (29) 18
1 (13) (84) 55
2 (15) (99) 15
4 (19) (117) 18

He was ahead of me 29-12 when it started. 4 innings later, 117-19.

And he finished me off with a 25 in that game.

Very good control of the table. Very determined. Very focused.

What I want to play like when I grow up.

Dave, thanks for your kind words. I have watched your player evaluations and reallly like them. Based on what you have said on my play I now think my patterns are coming along pretty well so now I just need to keep working on the tougher shots and overall pacing. I'll try to post some more runs in the next couple weeks as I tune up for the qualifiers for Predator World Open. I played one match last week with Dennis where my inning average was over 14 in a including safeties etc so I'm getting up to tournament speed.
