Jensen cues since 1969 I spent 5 days with Mike Johnson at the derby . He is agreat guy and a great cue builder he will now be doing some much higher end cues please keep your eyes open in the near furture .he knows many secerts from the old masters i learned a lot
 
I ordered a cue from him last year and met him at the Derby in 2007. I walked up to him and asked if he was Mike Johnson. He looked at me and said you must be Ed. I said how did you know? He said that I was the only guy that he ever talked to with a Michigan accent. Now it makes 2 of us.

There have been a lot of great players that used his cues. Buddy Hall, Jimmy Reid, David Matlock, and C.J. Wiley to name a few.

I don't think anyone makes a finer steel jointed cue for the money.

Two of the best cues I've ever hit a ball with were Jensen's. You'd think I would have smartened up by now and purchased one.
 
I am still trying to find one of his older 57" cues for sale...and it's funny, cause they seem to NEVER come up for sale.

mikes cues are one of the strongest playing cues out there! ,I weigh his shafts and they are mostly over 4oz!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info Kenny, but again, I prefer an older one, say late 80s-early 90s, with a few bumps and bruises. Steel joint, two shafts, around 12.5mm.

jensen on order

am currently in jensens part of the country. I met him and his wife last week both great people,they both make you feel like family. anyway stopped by his house, hit a few balls ,then ordered a cue.this is the second cue that i have played with and HAD to have, the other was a searing & lucky enough to buy three searings within a week. if you're wondering what else i have played with to determine jensens cues play great heres a little list of what i currently own 3 searings, 3 richard blacks, 2ted harris, 2 old JW, manzino, tad, southwest, mottey, gilbert, bobby hunter, pfd 10th anniv. & a few others. of these i play with the ted harris exclusively. searings play great but they are all being refinished by the man himself then maybe closet queens not sure yet. mottey is incredible, jw is excellent, also pfd.1 richard black is great the other 2 not so much. It will be very hard NOT to switch to the JENSEN full time, maybe i should get 2 or 3 or anyway you get the idea. GREAT HITTING CUES IF YOU GET THE CHANCE TO HIT SOME BALLS WITH ONE DO NOT PASS IT UP. as far as the cues i didnt mention playing great above its probably because i have not hit many balls with them. Im sure the others play great as well, as these are some of the best cue makers in the world, thats why i bought them after all ! so dont think i'm bashing this is not the case. It's sad that i even have to make the last statement but such is life on AZ.

There is a guy in my town/league who has a very nice Jenson Sneaky that he bought from a guy......sadly the shaft looks like he took it fishin a few times and theres more dings and nicks in the butt thana gravel road..........Very sad indeed.........Im on a mission to buy it from him one day...............sadly when he bought it he paid round $400 from my friend and it was in NEW condition..........damn bar league players.......

People play with the jensens!and dont normaly let them go!! they are constrructed like the bushka! and he is very selective on shaft wood usually ove 4 oz! I love his cues
 
If you want a cue to play pool with, you can do no better than a Jensen.
Most people want a cue for other reasons, as strange as that seems.

Interesting that Jeff would say this and then have a Rick Howard as his playing cue........
 
Not Necessarily!?!?

I'm not sure it's a contradiction......I've got several cues that IMHO play better than the cue I currently shoot with; however, at the moment I've chosen to shoot with a different cue (that still shoots extremely better than I do) and I keep my favorite Jensen snug as a bug in a case :D

Yes, I currently play with a Howard, however, I believe it's no "better" than a Jensen. Like I said, If you want a cue to play with, you can do no better than a Jensen. I think there is a group of top makers you could say that about. It gets down to personal preferences for each to decide which is best for them, out of the top group. For example, South West and Bluegrass are in that group. Niether is better, just a hair different. Yet, you can do no better than either, if that makes any sense. IMHO-jeff

That's cool Jeff...I was interested in this post because I just bought a Jensen full splice and haven't even seen it yet. I'm hoping it's the best player I've seen yet.
 
Read the username. Let's get some more Jensen love going. I went to his house this Wednesday with my friend rackbuddy to get some stuff done. We were talking about the ridiculous ticket giving in Baton Rouge. They are very nice people. I am on my third Jensen but play with a Meucci Sneaky. The Jensen is the best hitting cue I have ever played with. I own two fullsplice Blackcreeks and would play with the Jensen over them.
 
Just bought a Jensen

Just started playing with an older Jensen(1995)

plain jane, leather wrap. Love the feel, love the looks.

Just talked to him about a J/B to match. For the money spent couldn`t

imagine being more satisfied. Mike is a great person to talk with, I look

forward to meeting him and his wife soon.
