Jeremy Jones VS Immonen-Harsh W6rds

Mika has been in this type of situation in the past. I remember Flaco made a lucky shot against Mika during a regional open tournaent. A moment later he overheard Mika make a snide remark about the shot. Shades of Balukus during her infamous "Beat me with skill, not luck" match. :) Flaco went off on a tirade, comparing [the Fin] to Adolf Hitler. Mika has incredible self control during these disputes. In any case, Mika won the match, but it was closer in the beginning than the end.

Just because he wears pink shirts, doesn't mean he's gay :P

you are right.
Most conservative clothires like Brooks Brothers store started selling pink shirts more than 20 years ago.Even a macho man like late Johny carson once wore pink shirt with his suit on his show.

I think that your statement says a lot in that Jeremy is usually quiet and soft spoken. If it got to the level that the original poster mentioned, I would take a stab that something caused such a response. I would have to stick with JJ on this one as I know his demeanor.

I was thinking the same thing, I have met JJ and seen the way he carries himself on and off the table, nothing but classssss.

Eric.

So is Mika. If JJ used the f word, take the "cl" off the class statement.

Just goes to show that a certain 'other' person isn't the only one that pulls that kind of stuff. It's just that the cameras follow the 'other' person around and catch everything he does.
A few years ago I was watching Mika and Bustmante play at the derby and they were having some disagreements. Bustamante returned to his chair and started telling me and my buddy that Mika as far bigger cryer than Earl.

Harsh words were exchanged between Mika Immonen and Jeremy Jones after their match on Table 2, which Mika won.

After a bad fluke by Mika he said "I guess we're even" in reference to another stroke of good luck by Jeremy.

Jones took exception and they had words soon after. This continued after the match. They almost took their argument outside.

Jones reportedly accused Immonen of being gay, calling him a F____t. I spoke to Jeremy and he did not retract this, saying that Mika "jumps the fence." He also said that Mika had no class because Jones, after luckily snookering Mika eralier after a missed, raised his hand in apology, while when Mika hit a lucky fluke he instead made his "I guess we're even" comment.

Supposedly the referee did not intervene in the argument sufficiently.

Mika also told afterwards that Jones once borrowed $700 from him and it took one and a half years to get paid, recounting how Jones tried to avoid Mika afterwards. He said "you can see what kind of guy he is." Mika told me he was only speaking to himself when he made the "now we're even comment." Immonen maintains that he allowed Jones to continue his outbursts and only said "are you done?" after each tirade.

This all happened an hour ago. I didnt see it but I spoke to eyewitnesses and spoke to both players.

In 4 years of WPC this is the most bizarre incident I've ever known to happen at this event.

Note-IS Mika saying "i guess we are even" really that big of a sin? Afterall, he is at the table -IM just not seeing that as something to be hung for. What do you think Cardinal sin or not?

HOPE JEREMY DOESN'T FIND OUT THAT I AM A ROTATING TRANSVESTITE!!!!!

Most people would, too. Just laughing that after JJ loses, he calls Mika a f_g. Grow up and deal with it. Mika's known as the Iceman for a reason. His indifference to JJs comments is probably what set JJ off. Arguing with a guy that says "are you done yet" drives most people up the wall.

You can't be serious!*

JJ is visibly upset, gesturing, mumbling and talking to himself anytime he is an inch or more off perfect postilion

If any or all of these things actually happened, why would you bother "reporting" it? I can't see anything good coming from it. Unless of course you are trying to promote pool in the same manner WWE does rassling.
I would guess he did it because it is news in the pool world, maybe not great news but news nether the less, I guess someone should called all the news stations that cover all the major sporting events and show players or whole teams getting in fights and ask tham why they would show that!

jeremy jones

well i help tech the boy everything he knows when i was living in beaumont in 1990. he was playing "just starting" in a pool room in baytown. one of the nicest guys in the world, watched him progress until he beat me playing one pocket in houston and i said"your there buddy" he said thanks "sparky" for all your help! i think watching him through the years i would have to say the "foreniger" was probably out of line. sparky

Mika is one of the biggest cry babies Ive ever seen. Whinning about this and that. The match between Django and him was ridiculous. Busty just threw his hands and said rack your own then. After Mika went on some Jag about Busty's racking. Do you think Bustamante would try to cheat you to beat you.
He comes in to town and says he doesnt know one pocket and proceeds to drill everybody all the time whining about how he doesnt understand the game and he doesnt know it. He's a World Champion for christ sakes. Act like one.

To himself, he is a perfectionist, attitude towards others is what I was talking about.

Eric.

To be honest with you who really gives a $hit,i mean, pool is no different then alot of sports or just plain people in the world, you will have arguments and disagreements when your around people and sometimes you will be totally in the right and still have someone out to step on your toes. What did Frank say?, "Thats Life!":D

Both guys were interviewed about this incident on ESPN (the footage was also shown).

Mika threw out the "We're even now" comment and Jones didn't like it- lots of incoherent words were exchanged after that.

Without giving the specific wording, Jeremy basically confirmed he called Mika a f_g, and he didn't shake Mika's hand after the match (apparently he pulled the old "stick out your hand and pull it way" gag according to Mika).

Jeremy claimed he started calling Mika names after Mika called him "classless"- Mika said he called him classless after Jeremy started calling him names.

Jeremy seemed more upset than Mika- both guys talked way more about the incident that I would have expected. Neither guy will be sending the other a Christmas card this year, imho.

Mika left it by saying that unless this is somehow settled, they would probably glare at each other at tournaments for a couple of years until the bad feelings faded away- he didn't seem too bothered.

So I guess Immonen isn't quite as good a sportsman as a player? Didn't know that.

That's funny, because Finns are usually tough competitors who never complain. Perfect examples are their Formula One champions, Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikkonen.

So, Mika makes the "we're even" comment, JJ calls him a pole biter, and Mika's the one with poor sportsmanship?

That's priceless.
