Jimmy Wetch used to show up at the high-profile and large pool events. He's good friends with quite a few of the players. Always a sharp dresser, it's a pleasure to see him when he's at an event.

Jimmy is still a very young 42 years of age and a smart cookie! He realizes playing pool competitively is not the most efficient way to earn a good living. So, having passion for the game, he decided to own a pool room where he could still enjoy pool to the utmost.

Here's a brief article on Wikipedia about Jimmy "The Kid" Wetch: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Wetch

If I remember right and sometimes I don't, lol. When I was at the Walker tourey a month ago some folks were saying some good things.

Who can forget what happened to poor Jimmy Wetch and his beloved pet named Junior as it all unfolded right here on AzBilliards.

Jimmy got off work, closing his pool room in the wee hours of the morning. It was freezing cold in Minnesota. He and Junior went to work together every day. He stopped by the local convenience store to get some ice cream and dog biscuits for Junior. He left his car running out front with the heater on to keep Junior warm. There was not a soul in sight, as it was 3 in the morning or thereabouts. :p

As he opened the door to exit the store with ice cream and dog discuits in hand, he witnessed the worst horror any pet owner can imagine. There was his car driving off, with poor Junior standing in the back window looking at him, as if to say, "Why aren't you here? Where am I going?"

Junior is also the mascot of Jimmy's pool room, and the whole pool community was in an uproar when this happened. Jimmy went on the local news, pleading for the return of his beloved Junior.

Meanwhile, one day went by, a couple days went by, and soon it was almost a week, with no sign of the car or Junior.

A local man saw a bunch of kids taunting what looked to be a rabbit in a vacant house. It was below freezing during the night, and he could hear the animal crying. Each morning, the man went out and tried to lure the animal out of a vacant property, but to no avail. :(

Finally, he decided to bring out the big guns and came to the property with a big ol' hot dog. Junior couldn't hold back any longer, so very cold and hungry. He hesitantly came outside and went up to the man. Junior chowed down on that delicious hot dog like there was no tomorrow. The man brought him to the warmth of his home, and the next morning, he took him to an animal rescue league in the area, knowing Junior must have belonged to somebody.

Thankfully, Jimmy had already contacted all the right authorities, and when they saw Junior, they called Jimmy right away. :)

Here's the media shot of Jimmy and Junior's reunion. It actually brought tears to my eyes when I read about it. At least it has a happy ending!

They are going to put 100 tables in 10,000 sq ft? Then they will be putting them on top of each other?

I was there the other day but didn't notice the activity next door. The part that's operating now is in the vicinity of 20,000 sq ft and forty something tables.

Last time I was there about 2 months ago he was recovering all the tables. Business was not bad for a Tuesday night.

Just storage today

If someone looks through the windows next dr. to stooges- there are allready about 15 tables set up- was told for storage, -tables are for party's etc- But there is a pile of 9fts-Dissassembled- told just storage. Was a window lighting store, been empty 1 yr. Still the best for pool, Music wkends, Food-women. Mark

No sh*t? Junior was dog-napped?

Just googled the incident. Very fortunate that Junior made it home okay. Wonder how far from home or the pool hall he was? Must have been a long, lonely week at the pool hall without that little guy running around. Did they ever find Jimmy's vehicle?

I never found out about his SUV that was stolen. I only cared about poor Junior.

They said when Junior first came back, he was a little traumatized from his experience, not as forthcoming as he usually was. I hope he has overcome that today, after time has gone by.

It literally broke my heart when I first learned about it. I am so glad it had a happy ending! :)

It tore me up too. I can't stand stories of bad experiences to dogs.

Hope all is well with Jimmy and Junior.

Jimmy and his room are doing well. He has been putting a lot of effort into rebuilding his business in his room. He has been hosting weekend tournaments and getting a decent turn out.

As far as Two Stooges there are a lot of rumors flying around. They have been using that other space for storage for many months now. I have heard from employees and owners that they hope to expand, but when you go in on a Saturday night in the middle of a Minnesota winter and they have moved 16 of their tables so they can get a stage set up for the band it leads you to believe that adding more tables is not the answer.

Two Stooges has a great business, but I think they are worried because of this economy about moving forward with any expansions. The place is already huge and it always seems like there are 15-20 people on staff. With any expansion they will obviously have costs associated with it, and will need to add staff, that is if they have the business to warrant doing an expansion.

If you have never been to Two Stooges you should stop by. Probably the nicest pool room you will see, that is until Mike's rooom in Fargo is complete.

I'm a regular at Jimmy's (used to be a regular @ Two Stooges, pre-karaoke/bands). Any action at all is welcome. It's one of the last pool halls around that hasn't turned into a dance club or bar.

The new cloth on the tables (including some simonis 4000 for the Riley 12' snooker table) is awesome. Usually can find action playing golf or onehole/14.1 there.

In fact, I just lost $100 there last night playing 14.1 :(
