I just put up our newest Podcast. BigNasty interviews Joe Rogan about his interest in pool, his thoughts on the state of the game, action matches, actors and hollywood, his days as a stakehorse, his cue collection, and much more.

Joe is one cool guy. He has some great stories and surprised me with how knowledgeable he is about the game. This guy knows what he is talking about and his enthusiasm for the game is impressive.

The interview is on the main page here : www.theactionreport.com

Chad and I want to thank Joe for taking the time to do the podcast, we really appreciate his time.

Cool interview, I know of Rogan from the UFC, but never knew he was so into pool.

music at the beginning

Who doesn't think of th color of money when that song plays?I'm listenin to the podcast know.

I've got some pages to bang out, and I'm dubbing a webcast right now, so I can't listen to the podcast until it's done. I can read, though! :D

Is that the same Joe Rogan that was in the "Fear Factor" TV show? Keith used to love that show. He'd be surfing the TV stations and see "Fear Factor" and go right to it like a magnet, checking out the odd feats the competitors had to do. I had trouble watching it because of the people eating bugs and other critters.

I seem to recall they had one pool scene as one of the challenges, but I can't remember why it was difficult. I think it was a girl competitor who ended up running out better than the guys! :D

As soon as I finish dubbing this BORING, BORING, BORING webcast about Iraq, I'm going right on over to TheActionReport.com to check it out! :)

JCIN,

The podcast was great. I think that you are really on to something with TheActionReport. You seem to be off to a great start. Thanks for sharing your passion for the game.

Peace, JBK

Fantastic.

Joe's thoughts on "most famous people" about 5 minutes makes this a must listen.

Knowledge does not equal player

There was a short run celebrity pool show on one of the cable channels (don’t remember which) where celebs would play partners against other celebs. Well Joe Rogan was on the only one I watched. If I was to judge his speed I would say he was a 3 at best. I am not just talking about how many balls he missed, which were many, but how he held the cue, shot selection, position, etc... The best part about it was that they did prematch interviews and predictions, needless to say Joe touted that he was the best and that he could carry any partner. If I remember correctly, the only balls he made were a pocket hanger and some crazy bank that no "player" in the world would have gone for. He also missed a total pocket hanger and generally looked like a noob. And now coupled with the new information, I would guess he is a 3 speed with a large collection of pool books that likes to buy expensive sticks (I know about 100 of these guys, and I'm guessing anyone reading this does too)

But in all fairness, he is a B-list celebrity and ANY attention that is brought to pool is much appreciated. Also, the show was on last year and perhaps he has gotten much better.

LOL, yeah, I remember that one too. I was hoping to find it on YouTube, but it wasn't there. I did find this recap of the stunt though:

http://www.nbc.com/Fear_Factor/stunts/stunt_213_billiards.shtml

I think it was only really hard because of the pressure and because the contestants didn't seem to be avid pool players. However, IIRC, I thought the contestants generally played above their speed, based on how their mechanics, etc., looked. I'd probably play better too, if failing to run out would result in having to eat fermented squid guts. :p

HEY FOLKS we have a winner for the jackass of the day award

What a Jacka$$

Superman, What is your point to this post. To tear down someone that has a genuine interest in pool. I guess you are a real world beater, eh??

The interview was great, no need for your tearing down of Joe Rogan, he is one cool dude and you seem like a total troll with little to add to this board. Scram boy scram!!

Those are my thoughts on your inappropriate post.

Hey Supertroll, You have been a member for a year(july 06) and you choose this as your first post. What's up with that? Maybe you should just crawl back under that rock.:p

joe rogan

joe is actually the type of guy that could get pool brought up in the spotlight.maybe he will talk to the right person one day and get something going.i think it should be like a reality tv show from pool hall to pool hall.you know a lot of guys would push the action a little for some air time.by the way great podcast.thats what i like the most about the site.but its all great really.

The other day, I talked to Robb Saez. He grew up with Joe Rogan, and Joe really is into pool. In fact, Joe went to a pro event just to watch his good friend, Robb play. I believe Robb took 3rd in that event.

Joe

Joe seems like a cool dude. I'm a huge fan of the UFC and he knows his stuff on that side. Fear Factor was also pretty entertaining. A chic I knew was on it one time (smokin' hot of course). She fell off a helicopter to be eliminated in about the first 3 seconds of the show. What a shame, ha, ha. I was happy to see he likes pool too. Oh, I almost forgot his stand-up is probably the funniest I have ever seen. The dude is hilarious.

Your version of what happened on the show is pretty distorted, and you seem like a dick, but I'll "explain" myself anyway for anyone cool that cares. Before I did that show I hadn't hit a ball in years, at least 2, and before that I hadn't played regularly in 6 or 7. I was never very good to begin with, but I certainly used to be better than I was on that show.
The reason I said that I thought I was going to win is that the producers asked us to talk trash and say we were going to win in a friendly way to make it more interesting. That said, I actually did think as bad as I was playing that I would still win because every one else there was really, really bad.

The point is, I was completely honest about my ability, and the fact that I'm just like all of you; another person that loves the game of pool.

I saw a vid of that show..it was on some low rent cable channel or something.. the only person I remember was Joe...

somebody else beat me to it but I think Supreman must be a big Menstealia fan :D...

rock on Big Nasty and JCIN.... and Joe... cool stuff on the site, let us know when you get to profile more of the pro's cues and cases.. that is a pretty neat feature, at least to me.
