I stand corrected, not a Spain blank.
Sorry guys.
Sorry guys.
Chris,
This cue was not made with one of Burt's blanks. Burt made a few blanks with 5 veneers, some of those went to George Balabushka, very rare.
This cue was built with one of the square handles that Burt cut the inner points to accept 5 veneers. I used one of those handles of Burt's and built the nose and veneers and then turned it round. Definitely not a finished blank like you have. To date, I've never finished one of Burt's blanks.

Beautiful cue, all the way around. It's good that the facts are sorted out.
The only five veneer Spain blank I'm aware of, right from Burt, is on Mosconi's Bushka. It would be interesting to know if there were any other original five veneer Spains on cues.
All the best,
WW
Troy, this one is simply great. Love it. Congratulations!
There's more floating around.
Another beautiful cue. On the photo, it looks to me like black (1), double orange/mahagony (2&3), teal blue (4), and white (5), making five veneers. Do I have that right? Always tough with photos.
All the best,
WW
