Ok I just got off the phone with Chip Compton and he says its true Joey got jumped by a couple of lowlifes and they hit him in the mouth with a basebll bat. Joey lost a couple of teeth and has a fractured jaw, but is doing fine, In fact he`s at the pool hall hitting balls. What a Kid! Thank God! for keeping him safe from further harm.

This is brutal..I've known this kid since he was 12 or 13 and he has been nothing but a genuinely nice kid and soft-spoken!! I hope these creeps get it ten fold!!

And people warn me about the Philippines. We live on the mean streets of America today! Travel in pairs and make sure you have some muscle with you.

I notice a difference when I return from the PI. Here it seems everyone is giving everyone the "hard eye." Like they have nothing better to do then start trouble. You have to be careful not to make eye contact when you walk around in L.A. I suspect it is much the same in other locales. And if you look at someone you better be smiling. Everyone seems on edge these days.

I can sense the tension in the air. People seem wary everywhere I go, always on their guard. Less and less do I see people relax and enjoy friendly conversation. No one wants to talk to a stranger. Even in stores the conversations are short and stilted. Life has changed in America and I don't think there is any going back. People are only comfortable around family and friends. No one wants to engage a stranger. Heaven forbid you brush against someone while walking or drive too aggressively.

There is fear on these streets and I can feel it. This is only my perception. It may not be yours.

Jay,

The world has changed, Than how we once knew it. Growing up, I remember walking down the street with friends at night to our local Topsys ,for popcorn and shakes. Now a days, I won`t let my son out of my sight. And I won`t walk down the street myself!

You hit the nail on the head here again Jay....and this is the exact reason why people should treat any threatening situation with extreme caution and keep up their guard...

Funny you brought this up...just today I was walking my new pup who obviously is in the training process right now...while training him how to walk with his leash a man was walking toward us on the sidewalk but on the opposite side...knowing this..I choked the leash up as short as I could get it but still once we crossed my pup wanted to jump on the guy and give him a big kiss...the man ignored the situation and while walking away said..." You'd better keep that f...ing dog off of me!!"....These are the type of idiots on the street these days..and I live in a respectable neighborhood!!!

This topic? About Joey Grey? Any news about pool player/ good or bad is pool related, IMO.

I hope those thugs get what's coming to'em:angry:

Get well, Joey.

I mean a thread about violence and what jay said about the state of American atmosphere. Then I can vent about the horrific music and TV shows that glorifies negative stuff such as violence.
