John Barton VS Lou Figueroa

You seem to have a visual impairment....no wonder you use CTE. As originally stated.... This match has nothing to do with business or economics. It's a good old fashion cock fight and I bet someone's is gonna fall off.

It might be you. One, I will bet John makes much more than $100.00 on a case and if this advertisement has caused him to sell enough cases to give him a free shot, I would think its also business related. One thing is for sure, John has put his money where his mouth is, and as a gambler, I have to respect that. You are right about it being a grudge match also, but that doesn't take away the fact that it created business also. He might have more moves than a water bug!:D

We all know that the loser of this match is going to lose gracefully. They are going to end up being friends.

Nothing really to see to be honest.

And Lou will buy everyone vintage drinks and aged steaks, after all we are all "UNKNOWN PRO'S".

I have gotten much more out of it. A full page ad is about 3k - this has been four months of constant interactive ads. Nick B. needs to stop trying to calculate my PL.

In fact Dean Campbell suggested to me that I should do one of these "beat JB" challenge matches each year. It's a fun ride so far and everywhere I go people know about it and it is a good topic of conversation.

What I have loved is all the actual help people have offered. Almost everywhere I have been I have had some people offering to help me learn one pocket.

John,

I was just talking with Wayne Pullen at the Swanee and if you come to LA he definitely wants to work with you on your game and help in any way he can at the House of Billiards in Santa Monica.

Wayne is a very steady player. He is a cool and interesting man, well to do, with a lot of pool knowledge.

Chris

I would love to but the timing won't work for me to get west of Okc before the match.

Please tell Wayne I said thank you very much.

Sorry, I thought from a previous post you were coming to L.A. - I guess you meant Louisiana.

No problem. I didn't say Louisiana either but perhaps someone invited me to go there. I was about to fly to LA to deal with a business issue but my broker got it handled.

How about a side bet. Loser can't post on AZB for one year. That makes it more personal than 2 guys who can afford to bet $10,000. At least make it a month. I think that might be worse than losing the money.

Nah that would be letting the loser off easy.

I like Lou's game.......

I've never seen John play but I did see Lou play for about 10 minutes.

I'm pretty quick at judging ones speed and I think that if Lou stays on the table solid for a week he could get to a pretty high gear,

But it all comes down to who can get it done for the cash.

Good Luck guys.

I hope you both win,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Lou stays on the table every day of his life and has not reached a high enough gear.

John is a genius. He has crafted a scenario where he wins regardless of the outcome of the match. OTOH, Lou wins only if he wins the match.

Kick his ass John

Always been a fan of yours throughout the years. Never thought those silly fires on these forums had a bunch of merit, but to see him actually play with his stick and not his mouth for once?

I can't wait..

Not a genius but I certainly have derived more than $10,000 worth of enjoyment out of this so far. For a banger this is fun. And of course for business it is kind of like Richard Branson flying around the world In a hot air balloon and Virgin getting publicity from it.

It's party time...

Alright ... I've got the grill warmed up, cold beer in the fridge and a nice collection of bets on this one.

So, when is it going to start? Thought the poster said 4:00pm eastern..

Go get him John .. and don't forget to get my new case on a truck .. :D

Me either. In some strange way I think this is what all these years of playing have been for, heads up for something really meaningful.

Nobcity said I have it set up where I win either way and that's certain true for me at this point. But actually WINNING the pool match will be better and something worth remembering for me AND I will have a nice vacation in the Maldives with my wife to remember it with. That will be my trophy for first place. If I lose then she gets to tour the historic houses of Edison NJ :-)

John,
You have bellied up to the table like a man, a macho man.

You have stood up to a forum bully and I am proud of you.

You have taken this affront personally as you should and you have done something about it.

Lou's lubricated attacks with words has prompted you to play a match that most people have only dreamed of.

Lou's hatred and ridicule of aiming systems and the users of aiming systems has prompted you to learn more about CTE/Pro1 and it has prompted you to learn more about the beloved game of one pocket.

You have earned my admiration.

I think you have accomplished a great deal when it comes to one pocket in a short period of time. Don't let the naysayers tell you that you can't learn important shots and skills in a short period of time. Just because some people want to hit a million balls and learn the hard way, doesn't mean everyone has to do it that way.

It will be fun to see you whip to doo-doo out of Lou.

Thank you for making this forum's delight by your many posts about this upcoming match. Many of us look forward to you winning this match although some will be scared to say so for fear that Lou will unleash his legions of hounds upon their ass. For me, I'm not glad that you decided to play this match as much as I am that you are preparing for it like you want to win. While I haven't seen you play one pocket, I do know Lou's speed. If you pass my way, I will share with you what I know. The reports that I have been getting bodes well for you.

Good shooting!

JoeyA
