Has anyone got to play with that trick shaft that he has? He got me with it,lol. Talk about deflection, wow! He said I got a cue that you can't make a ball with and I said where's it at. He said I'll be right back.

Well I grab it and fire the first shot in,a long cross corner, then I just laid it on the table and said case closed. He says no you have to cut some balls in. So he set up a cut shot with the oball froze on the rail and I missed by it 6 in. every time!!!.

I've never paid much attention to deflection until now and wow is all I can say. The shaft seemed to weigh at least one lb or more.

Andy Gilbert told me that he made the shaft just to prove a point and I can say without a doubt...he did. John B.

Jim Buss made a couple of shafts for me like that. Instead of a hollow front end like some low-squirt shafts they have a core of brass. It's really fun to ask a 3-C player to shoot a break shot with it, since they will use a good amount of inside spin. And miss the ball by 3 inches.

Our local houseman Rolando made one also, lots of fun.

Ah, so that's why you beat me every time, you switch my shaft out for a gaff one. Must be it,

Ronnie Allen, as usual, was decades ahead of his time.
People would gamble in the 60s (shaft only)...the trick was to hold a roll of quarters in
your stroking hand, pressed against the back of the shaft.

Ronnie had a 21 ounce shaft made....and robbed a few people...
....he could actually draw the length of the table with it.

I have one of Andy's high deflection shafts too. I watched him make it. If anyone asks what deflection is that will explain it pretty quickly

They (Detroit) trapped Russian Kenny with that shaft. The game was the 6-Ball ghost with BIH after the break. I don't think he ever ran out.

The game was that he had to use the loaded shaft?

A shooter called Dutch had one with a copper wire core - he bet you couldn't make a spot shot.:)
