CJ,
maybe what watchez is referring to is the following.
There just seems to be to much SLC in pool and not enough TLC.

I could be wrong but not bymuch I can guarantee.

*** SLC= Stiffs, Liars, Cheaters

I prefer this "cup of Tea"

Yes, it was clarified. I honestly had no idea, but I've been out of the loop and haven't been to the DCC (except one day 6 years ago).

I do agree the "SLC" element is a serous bummer to be around. Not my "cup of tea," that's for sure.

I prefer this "cup of Tea"

I'm not sure what you're referring to and I don't think I'm off base saying the following:

You can take all the "social media and internet" and add it together and you will get only a fraction of the exposure for pool in the 90s (I received over 600 international hours on ESPN). TV is important to a sport/game's vitality, and the sudden rise in poker's popularity seems to make this case.

The key issue with social media is it's only people that are already pool players of some level (league, recreational, tournament), and there's no "media machine" to draw and expose non players. Pool needs to be shown as a viable entertainment option for the general public to go to a billiard club, buy equipment, etc. I can't imagine that social media draws in as many as probably discontinue the game.

The industry is down 40% because of a few reasons, and I'd have to put lack of ESPN exposure as number one. My opinion is just my opinion and I, like Dennis Miller "could be wrong." What, in your opinion is the major reason? We can agree to disagree, I'm curious what you think is wrong.

One key to a successful ESPN TV production is to get ''away'' from the boiler plate programming design that's been there FOREVER, a 10 yr old could come up with a better business model. Their ongoing business mind with POOL is to keep costs down and utilize our sport as filler when gaps in programming need to be filled. ESPN rides on others coattails when it comes to our sport and loves the advertising revenue, since pool players will alway$ sell their sole (not all) when you put money in their face. We don't have a total bottom up product, so why would they even consider pool over lets say.... tennis? I wouldn't. Ya gotta take care of the roots first if ya wanna grow the tree. The actions of the BCA are near identical to pool players, they would much rather pick the apples than tend to the orchard. Pool players most always are thinkin', what's in it for me NOW, sad but true. Tho I feel somethings around the corner for our game.

Ding Ding -- I'm just saying if Lance Armstrong was a pool player he would still have 8 stakehorses all hanging from his lone nut wanting to put him in action at any moment. The SLC is ignored in pool. I am waiting for a pool promoter to bar the first player with a reputation. I know, I know - it can't be proved. Dumping and playing bad look the same. Chiopping up a stakehorse or a tournament, you have no proof either. Dumping so your buddy makes the Mosconi Cup team. Dumping because the other person simply deserved it. I could go on and on. Lance Armstrong never failed a test but there was enough people calling him a cheat that he was barred and the cycling federation is much bigger than pool.
