John Schmidt 110 ball run on video

Thanks Dennis !!

I really enjoyed watching this. I could watch John play all day, he makes the game look so easy !!

Looks like he has painting himself into a corner before the run ended abruptly, would of like to see what he was planning even though he missed !

Thanks for sharing !

I took a 3 hour straight pool lesson from John on Thursday and in that time was able to teach him everything I know, LOL. Seriously, they say you can't just go and buy a better pool game but man o' man, in games like straight pool where knowledge is so important, my time with him resulted in an immediate and huge improvement in my 14.1 play. I'm sure glad he moved back to the West Coast. :D Anyone that has met and talked to John knows you don't have to pry stuff out of him, LOL. We really covered a lot of ground. He also helped me with a couple of "fundamentals" that were a big help. Can't wait for the next one.

I grew up on straight pool so I appreciate the complexities and nuances of the game. For anyone not that familiar and think these guys run a lot of balls simply because of great shot making skills - forget it right now. You don't run hundreds just on shot making ability. Schmidt really knows how to play the game.

Great stuff from one of the best in the business. Thanks for the link.

John moved to the West Coast? I thought he had just got a room somewhere on the East side of the country.

I believe that John plays the best short position in the world today, a skill he exploited to the max when he won the Derby City one pocket event a few years ago. He's quite remarkable to watch. He is, of course, a ball running machine (perhaps the "Babe Cranfield of our era) and he's also a nice guy who has a lot of respect for the game of 14.1 and for those who came before him.

Yeah, he recently sold his pool hall and moved back. It was nice to see him at the Swanee this year. The Southern California talent pool has caught another gear.
