John and Marylane Showman have created something that I personally can never thank them enough for. John mentioned at the ICCS this year that "I have something for you." He wasn't kidding.
John and Marylane worked together to create a TAR cue and case. To have a cuemaker of John's status think enough of what we do to put the time and effort into something like this means a great deal to us. To have John and Marylane as friends means even more.
The cue is a classic four point bumperless Hoppe design. Steel joint, phenolic collars, four point no veneer Bocote into Maple. Something that I really really like is the case. The reason I like it so much is not only the awesome design it is because John's wife Marylane did all of the hand tooling herself. It is only the second case she has worked on and is signed on the back with her name and the number 2. Ron Thomas assembled the case and as usual did a remarkable job.
We are going to auction this cue by sealed bid. I will take bids at the Super Billiard Expo in person and via the Private Message function here. Bidding will close at 9 PM Eastern time. The winner will make payment to John Showman and if they are at VF can pick the cue up here or we can arrange for shipping. This is a cash only deal. No trade offers please. Current starting bid on the cue and case is $3000. Winning bidder will be notified Saturday night. When making a bid via PM please include your full name, phone number and email address. I am guessing I will know most interested parties anyway but this way there are no mix ups.
Any questions please post them in this thread and I will do my best to answer them. I will check this thread and throughout the day.
John Showman for President.
