Johnny Archer vs. Allison Fisher?

I think you've got Allison (and Karen for that matter) under rated. If Allison played Johnny, I believe it would be closer than Shane's last two "challenge" matches. As always JMHO :)

Jay i'll make sure there is a spot at the local puzzle factory for you. go take your meds, before they come to pick you up I dont want there to be a scene like last time. remerber? ;)you bit the guy putting the straight jacket on you. Sorry people but Jay loses it sometimes, last night he thought he was a used car dealer now he thinks Archer forgot how to play.   :)

I would rather see Kelly Fisher play Johnny 9-ball race to 100, alt break. If Johnny played like he did in the Mosconi Cup I think it would be interesting.

As far as A. Fisher, K. Corr, M. Webb, X. Pan, Ga Young Kim... with the same format, I'll save this thread for the betting odds. The women are getting better every year...the men are not. Johnnyt

Thanks Johnny. It's closer than they think! If there were any events with the top women against the top U.S. men, everyone might be a little surprised.

Say the top 16 women and the top 16 men in the USA all got together, single elim. I'm predicting at least two of the women would make the final eight, and one might be a semifinalist. All Races To Eleven, S.E.

Now, if you pit the top 16 women against the top 16 men from all over the world, it gets a lot tougher. Maybe only one would make the final eight.

Bottom line, they will win matches!

they are getting better, but they're still miles from the top men in a race to 100, winner breaks 9ball(especially if it was break out of the box!).
JMHO...........Jeremy

when they play each other, dont get me wrong the girls play good and i like them buuuuuut they play on 6" pockets and you cant compair them to the men, save Jean Balukas

I do not know Allison but I think the reason she dosen't match up too much with the men comes from her snooker playing days. She played one year in the premier league. It was her and 7 of the top male pros. She played incredibly well and finished middle of the pack with several wins. At the time she took a lot of flak for taking the spot of a more deserving player(a higher ranked male) and the impression that the other players could not play her tough was also thrown about. Even though she played great I don't think she got the respect she deserved and this probably soured her a little bit when it comes to matching up with men. I also think that is why you don't see her playing in too many open tournaments here in the States. I still like Archer in this matchup but if Allison is getting shape after the break she can hang with anybody. I don't think the long match or the pressure would affect her one bit.

hi

i played a guy named chewtobacco at his house in north carolina. i gave him the 8 six ahead for 200.after about 10 hours i was 4 sets winner, it was kind of tough.anyway he told me he gambled with allison and beat her and she refused to play anymore.i dont know if thats true.but hopkins told me he gives karen the 7 on her home table and its a war .he is past his prime though.he will be the first to admit that.ill tell you what i think karen and allison play great so heres what ill do. because i break harder i would not want that to be an advantage.ill play either of them or both the ten ball ghost and anything that goes on the break spots up.that way you have to break soft.we could both break 100 times and see who gets the highest total.the highest possible score being 1000.i think they could give me a serious run for my money but i would be willing to bet high.

I resemble these remarks. :D

If Johnny wants to give Allison 40 games on the wire going to a 100, let's hook it up, and we'll see who's working at the puzzle factory next.

Nothing against J.A., but if they play alternate break like in most tourneys today, Johnny wouldn't be able to pull away. She could hang, to use your words. Now go back and hit some more balls. You've got a big match in a few days.

See, THIS would be an interesting match! Everyone will get fired up about it, more so than two guys playing.

I'd like to stage a Challenge like this. All I know is that every time Jeanette played a guy, the stands were packed. And she beat a lot of guys she played in big matches over the course of the last ten years. A LOT!

Just check the results of DCC two years ago, and see where Jeanette finished in Banks and One Pocket. HELLO!

let me put this on record

i dont think you could get Johnny to give up 40 in a race to 100. Just to let you know if you can i will bet a large sum of money on Alison. And i dont care what the break format is. winner or alternate is fine with me. Simply put i am of the opinion that the top men play better. However any spot somone of Alison's caliber could receive would be to much to overcome normally. I feel Johnny would have to catch a serious gear in order to win.

I still say if anyone could make one of these matches happen and a player like Johnny A. would give 40 games on the wire with alt break, pool fans would pay to see it on streaming. If they did it 3 or 4 times a year with different women players I think a lot of MEN would be surprised of the out come. Every time one of these threads comes up 50% just get as far as men Vs women, and don't look at what the game is. 4 1/4" pockets are not going to bother A. Fisher, K Corr, or K Fisher anymore than they are going to bother Johnny A. IMO. Johnnyt

PS. If one of the above matches goes off and the weight is anything like mentioned above, my window will be open and I believe I will make one of the biggest scores I ever made in pool.

i'm gonna retire on this one and put my kids through college.

seriously, i dont have wall street bankers, kids, i'm never gonna retire and your my friend so I wont let you get busted on this match, gotta knock your action so you dont. even with alternating breaks the girls might get 40 on a good day with 4" pockets.

John T the line is the girls +60, if the gy has $$$ on himself and dosent get comfortable, now if he is staked with the +60 line thus he is laying -60 he is gonna bear down and get there if he is staked at -40 then he'll cover but not by more than 10 games

When you see the TV matches for the female pros they are usually on looser equipment, I don't think that they're ever played on tables tighter than 4 3/4" and they're edited to leave out the bad mistakes, of course so are the televised men's matches, but they are often on tighter equipment...

Really? What were the pocket specs for the 2007 WPBA season and what where they for, say, the Mosconi and the WPC?

JMHO...........Jeremy

But winner breaks is an irrational rule...has no precedent in ANY major sport and is just an old hustle move that virtually guaranteed a win against a banger gambler REGARDLESS of the weight given.
