Johson city hustlers jamboree combined

Johnston City

Yes, wherever there is enough will, there is a way!
But, most people don't last long enough to see the fruit .
I have an idea,
Numbered cards from 1 to 100 blind draw, 1 plays 100 and so on.
You play 1 game! No safeties, if you don't make a ball , it's ball in hand! 9 ball, slop counts.
First round 100 people, second 50 3rd 25 4th 13 5th 7 6th 4 7th 2 8th winner take all.
You won't be spending a week to play it out, the best player doesn't have to win , it's going to put some pressure on some great players, that won't handle it well.
What do you think?
All you have to do is play and beat 8 people, and none of them better miss or you have ball in hand!
That's gambling!
Not sitting around the pool room every day for 6 months, until some guy with a dream of being a pool player, comes in and you rob him for 20 dollars.
The people that do that aren't really even alive, they are like snakes with the head cut off, but still going through the motions.

l hear locks opening and tears falling. Lol

example
i am trying to match up.player boffers me 9to 5 for $1000
.jack likes it and bets another $2000 with shane on my game

Efren lays me $4000 to 2000 on the side

allof a sudden 16 people are betting one way or another

after a few hours player c has not bet a nickel
its penalty time for waiting too long,he is assessed a fine

Larry ask for the double nuts, everyone agrees he is too tight so he has to pay a fine

Potter plays the worst player in the house even one pocket

i bet my entire stack on the other guy

a few complain and the moderator makes sure the game was on the square

finally he decides that potter could not possibly be dumpng
he doesn't play one hole and never has

another example i ask for 9to 5
player a offers 8to 6
Cooney says throw in the break and I will take another $1000

Cliff says make it $4000 and tou got the break,I like player a

committee match ups are possible

a guy could get way ahead and never play, until the finals

you lock the guys in a pool room with money
and there will be action

not like the scene you see everyday where no one has money or gamble
and people play pool detective, here is the idea pool room

it may only last a week or a day

but some one leavres with a cpol million
and the rest have memories

one thing is for sure, most people will be back for the next one

just a glimpse

one way to be sure is to let AZ members do the matching up"

No way will we need these guys help !!!

if you can not match up on your own
don't even think of coming

This is the big leagues

no whining when you lose
no one to blame

this is going to be the perfect Jamboree

people still look back at Johnson City with mmories of a life time

Derby City offered hope for a little something back at the first

If this gets started the first year, you will see it grow like the world series of poker

In fact a good poker player will probably win this one

I doubt if you see a pool player on the tour with $10,000
and his stake horse is probably better off playing on his own

I always thought this would be a great idea. Just imagine the "shot in the arm" for Johnson City. I wonder if Johnson City has a venue for a few thousand people to assemble. I can see it all now.. huge TVs, a dozen Diamonds with overhead monitors, all the greats walking about & crazy betting going on. The Jansco Brothers will rise up to watch this one...

When does it start...?

when one with state legislator connection's giving a wink and a nod, pointing out gaming loopholes and what the states' cut should be, for their next election campaign.

How about the expenses involved in running this event? How are you going to cover the cost? Where would you hold it?

with elements from the world series of poker

$10,000 entry fee and $1,000,000 winner takes all

featuring the thing that makes for action
matching up

it doesn't matter who the best player is,its how you match up with your fellow players

where else will you ever get a chance to win a $1,000,000

featuring some smaller action satellite games locally so you can take $1000
and win your invitation to the show

win your local qualifier
and proceed to the show

only one winner,but wow

you think I can get 100 players with $10,000

it happens with poker,it happens with slot machines

but are pool players willing to actually match up

the best player may or may not win,but the best gambler might
or some lucky stiff might make it big

how many of you guys would enter a state qualifier to win your entry fee
with the shot, not the guarantee of winning a cool million?

don't bother to read or reply if you don't have the gamble

this is not to promote the existing tour,
truth be told I could care less about those prima donnas

you pay your own expenses and you takes your shot

any interest?

So everyone has to keep matching up? Do they have to bet the 10k everytime? Let's say Johnny Betthemhigh wins his first match and he now has 20k, does he have to bet the 20k on his next match or did he just win a second barrel thanks to his first match?

You could have some kind of time- based "blind" increase. For example, at the start maybe each player has to put up 500 bucks in the pot just to just to stay in the room...before any bets are made. Then maybe that ante increases every 4 hours or so.

So even if someone was playing tight or trying to bet low, or if someone is just sitting on their money and not playing at all, eventually the increasing blinds will put them out. Can't imagine a gambler would sit around and throw his money away at the blind without matching up....

watch it you're on thin ice

example

Bet my entire stack on the other guy ? Yeah sure. Keep up that kind of
talk and I'm cutting down your percentage of my winnings. Now for
the first time in 50 years I'm going to tell you why I never played
1pkt. My reputation as a master of so many games, wild stallion
breaking, competition yodeling, 9ball, mumblety-peg, just to mention
a few, was known through out the land. A Titanic Thompson on steroids
and since 1pkt players tend to be more cerebral (excluding you know
who), well you get it. But the good news with this format we (notice
I said we, old buddy) have them trapped in your house with no way
to escape their fate. So stop with all that talk about me never..... oh
wait, I get it, I get it. Deanoc is right never played 1pkt. Sorry. I'm
going to sharpen my knife in case there are any mumblety-peger's
there. Hope Slim Burrell from the Cotton Palace comes.

I used to gamble with, travel with, and be backed by the self-proclaimed "WORLD CHAMPION MUMBLETY-PEG PLAYER".

Jefferson Davis Chamberlain...AKA J.D. or Little One (pronounced "Liddle Un" in Redneck)

J.D. was a very talented pool player and then went into the Army in WWII and got machined-gunned in France that caused him to be paralyzed from the waist down.

He came home and had to relearn pool, sitting in a wheelchair, and became a good player once again. Since he was disabled, he got a pretty hefty check from the government and he wasn't afraid to gamble it on ANYTHING. I saw him play everything from cards, pool, dominoes, coin flipping, to pitching to the line.

The ONE thing I never saw anybody challenge him to was mumblety-peg. Like I said, he was paralyzed from the waist down and had no feelings in his feet or legs. What's more than that, he had no use of his legs so he couldn't move them if he wanted to.

So he would challenge anybody to play mumblety-peg and they could bring any kind of knife that they wanted and he would bet anything they wanted to bet.

As far as I know, he went to his grave being the reigning, undefeated champion.
