Damn. You could kinda see it coming with what happened in the Reyes Cup, but you'd think they'd reconsider given how they got whooped so bad without him.

Matchroom want USA to win, so weakening Europe is in their best interests.

I suspect that Matchroom and other WNT players are bitter that Filler won lots of money in New Zealand and China.

This might be their way of getting back at him.

Foreseeable or not, just wow. But also, Mosconi is like a fringe benefit ESPECIALLY if you play for Europe.

Because......reasons.
Now these promotions think they're Dana White.
Take independent contractors and treat them like employees/ slaves.

WNT players came out with that 'we stand together' press statement and yet this guy goes straight to NZ and turns his back on them. I don't think he was squeezed nor do i believe the other players are jealous of any money he made. Had he stuck with his original statement and not played in NZ we wouldn't be talking about this. No one to blame but himself.

More than Josh being pulled, I’m mainly disappointed by the lack of transparency from the WNT. At the very least, contracted WNT players deserve an explanation, or it starts to look like players can be benched or removed on a whim. If Josh’s actions truly conflicted with his contract, then fair enough. But if not, there should be a clear code of conduct that both parties understand and agree to, with defined consequences laid out in advance.

I'm sure there is and they all know the terms. WNT is not in any required to air these details out in public. Every WNT CONTRACTED player knows exactly where they stand. I doubt Filler is all that surprised by this. BTW, his three reasons for going to NZ: 1.He'd already spent the money(his wife was playing) 2. He's always wanted a World8b title 3. His wife was going(see reason 1). Everything was Josh,Josh,Josh. Looks like MR/WNT has different ideas.

It would be most excellent to be a fly on several walls in this situation. I can imagine, for example, players on all three teams saying, "If he's in, I'm out." We have no idea how it really went.

Very sad.

i've heard rumors about there being some bad blood with jayson and possibly others, but again, filler qualified. that stuff shouldn't matter whatsoever for automatic picks

He was pressured by Matchroom to make that statement.

If he didn't make that statement, I suspect Matchroom would be doing the same thing.

Matchroom banning Filler is evidence that pool should not be run by a private company.

Pool needs to be protected by the WPA.

You have proof of that? I'm not saying its impossible but do you have solid intel they were forced to? Since they are contracted players i don't have an issue either way. The WPA is not out to protect pool. Matchroom is in the PROFESSIONAL pool business, something the WPA doesn't have a clue about. WPA is nothing but a sanctioning/rules making outfit. They have a long track record of screwing the pooch in pro pool. Take MR out of the picture and look around? What do you see? No pro pool tour. Seen enough of that the last 20+yrs.

This is exactly the comment I would expect from someone that works for the WPA.
