Can y'all do me a favor and post in the title of a thread whether you writing about Joss East or Joss West cues?


I'm extremely lazy and don't want to take the time and effort to open the threads which include the cues I have no interest in. LOL

Some titles could be more specific for sure.
Which Joss pisses you off :smile: Joss West or Joss Cues.
 
I am pretty sure that cues were never produced under the name Joss East. There are Joss cues and there are Joss West cues. I don't recall seeing an ad for a Joss West that only said Joss in the title. If the title says Joss, you don't know which era unless the lister describes more detail. But that was not your request.

Before Joss Cues LTD came about Joss was often referred to as Joss East. I've seen banners for Joss East at tournaments many years ago. I don' know that Dan Janes referred to his company as Joss East, to differentiate it from Joss West but a hell of a lot of other people did.

It's Joss and Joss West.
Danny Janes is pretty adamant about that.

I have three Josses....I don't own a Joss West.
 
Out on the West Coast Strouds are Joss (sometimes Josh).

Those other cues are production cues and we effete Californians don't even acknowledge their existence.

I have no idea how my name EVER got on that list. Down to 42,999,999.

Wait! 68? maybe Stroud was there? Maybe back to M43

I had a '71 Joss I paid $500 for....
...traded it for a Black Boar that the man had paid $2,300 for.
...he loved the cue but couldn't turn down the $4,000 he was offered.

Those old Josses have my respect.

Both Dan and Bill are legends that made a big impact on cue building.

Sorry, Kev.....I buy cues eagerly.....I sell them reluctantly.
 
According to the guys at Schon it is pronounced as "Shawn", I didn't know either, I had been saying Schone or Shown for the last 20 years until I met John the head of sales in person and he let me know it was pronounced "Shawn". Apparently there German distributors still pronounce it the way the German word was intended in their native language.
 
I believe at one time, Dan, Bill, Tim Scruggs were at Joss at the same time. Bill left in 72-73. Dan and Tim made my Joss in april of 74.
