Good call dynamite. I love both of these events as the tables are among the toughest to shoot on and really level the playing field for cueing accuracy. Very professional production for spectators as well.
Johnnyt, as i am sure you know, the world Pool-Billiard Association site (http://www.wpa-pool.com/web/home) has all of the dates/locations for most if not all of the the world events.

On the accu stats invitational steam, Billy said you told him you were taking a break from pool to heal your neck.
So will Derby be your first event of the New year, or is the Chinese 8 ball title defense in March be your first event?
I just watched a match last night with Gareth Potts and a Chinese player and god do these guys shoot straight.
They must feel liberated playing on loose pockets where they can hit the rail first and still make the ball.
The tight position they are forced to play is just nuts. I played on these tables sometimes when I lived in China and I did get the hang of them but it's really not as enjoyable as playing on American style pool tables because so many shots are not available. BUT running out a single rack feels like I ran out a set on a bar table.
If you're not a deadly accurate straight shooter forget Chinese 8 ball.

The masters is 45 k winner but very poor breakdown and strange format.
Started with 16 players 2013 double elim race 13
2014 16 players double elim 120 mins per match
2015 4 groups of 6 24 players no 1 in each group qualified for semi final.. Rest of guys played a load of nonsense matches for places .
2016 opened upto 64 players 32 foreign players 32 Chinese . Double elim 120 mins per match.
World 8ball championships 98k winner and with very good breakdown .double elim 64 players stage 2. Race to 11
Last 32 to semi final single elim races race 13
Semi race to 15
Final race to 21
Amazing set up and best venue I ever played in. For individual event
Best tables ever played on and by far the best version of 8ball the only 8ball professionals should play on with proper equipment for 8ball
None of that nonsense on buckets and becomes breaking contest. And no safety and patterns needed.
9ft snooker style table with nap cloth American balls it just doesn't get any better than that.. Only good Cueist and great 8ball knowledge can win .
I needed a break from pool and with so early in year again the masters it too early for me this time
I need to get healthy and get in shape before I come back to full speed and be where I want to be and should be.

Myself and Karl Boyes one of the best also dropped out.
World 8ball in March will be another sick field with all the best players from China and uk pool players and snooker players .. Also players from around world
