This is a cue I just finished for my son, it is to be his main shooter. It's stabilized Spalted Norwegian maple forearm and butt sleeve, Black/ brown Ebony with black water buffalo joint and butt cap. Juma ferrule and ultraskin soft. The maple came from a monster size tree in the front yard.
Thanks for looking.

A couple more pics

BTW, the Black water buffalo parts tend to have whitish streaks in them due to the composition of the compressed hairs. They are not defects.

Nice cue...

That is some highly figured spalted maple, and to get it right out of your yard.. I'm sure your son will like it. Congrats..

Simple and Stunning!!!!!

Wow!!! That is a nice piece of wood!!! And, one hell of a finish!!! Nicely done!!!!

Thanks for the compliments guys. The maple was about 60" diameter at the base and had a V crotch that was splitting. It snapped the aircraft cable that the tree company had placed there 15 years ago, so it had to come down. The spalting occurred by leaving the last 3 sections of the trunk sitting on the ground for 2 years. They were too big to move and had to be split right there. I was very surprised when we split them to find this treasure inside!!
We took the cue for a test drive last night and it hits awesome. He and I are both happy with the outcome.

I love this Cue!

Let me know if you have enough to make me one. I will send you a deposit right away!

Gorgeous. Your handle selection really captures that "complimentary flow" you want out of a nice spalted wood.

Very nice Dave. You did a great job keeping the grains together after putting rings in. Choice of wood is outstanding as well.

That finished up nicley dave. I had the pleasure of a sneak peak in the shop before it was finished it looked great without finish on it I cant wait to see the finished product in person next time we play against you guys in league.

Dave
