This cue has been sold .

Visting a freind last night , and this is what I received from him . He had lots more , but I cant print hi name .

Cue blank 30" long and .860 and 1.40 , lots of meat , but dont want to loose the Brunswick or the weight stamp . Not sure which way to go . Thanks for looking . Jim

Kinda what I'm thinking , keep it origial size , Ivory joint , Old groth shaft , :thumbup:

I need to check weight . Jim

With one of those old groth shafts Hangemhigh was selling from the 70's cue weights 18.2 , brass 3/8 x 10 pin & Chrome exposed weight bolt . Maybe a beehive rubber bumper .

Would like more ideas . Thanks Jim

Jim, I have never seen one marked on the bottom like that. Are you going to put Black Leather on it? True traditional would be a brass joint, not Ivory. You could put a Rambo ring.

I am starting a titlsist right now that I was planning on doing a Hoppe Pro style. Brass joint, smooth black leather and rambow ring. Hope it comes out as nice as I picture it in my head...lol
 
I love the print on the butt cap. These are on those..it looks beautiful just the way it is. No need to convert it to anything. Just keep it as is. Haven't seen one like that ever. Very cool!!!
 
Jim, it would be a shame to convert such a nice blank and cut a wrap channel in it. So I say keep it wrapless! Definitely a Hoppe/Rambo ring and a short black bumperless buttcap with a exposed bolt. (The shorter the black buttcap the better looking they are) The joint is all personal preference, but I seem to remember you making a set of JP's with titlist color dashed ringwork and it would look awesome on this cue. In my opinion this is the perfect candidate for keeping it simple. The fact that you have before photos will make this a neat conversion......whichever way you go with it.
 
What a find. I would say old growth shaft, ivory ferrules, old Champion tips, brass joint with plain black collars, Cortland linen wrap, and plain white rounded butt plate with no bumper.

I second this opinion. Simple, classy and as original as can be.

I love the find buddy, very very cool. I'd love to have it finished out. :)

Is that a later Schmelke made cue?


It would be nice to see it done up simple and traditional. Definitely need old shaft wood for it.

Didn't Scmelke make the ones with the gold printed logos like that?

I'm not sure, but I seem to remember that they made those for Brunswick after Brunswick stopped making them and before they farmed it out to Asian manufacturers.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember something like that.

I second the brass joint. I've got an OOOOOLD Hoppe that has a simple brass joint, about 3/16 inch of brass showing on each side. Bumperless of course . . .

Did he have any Willie Hoppe that had black wood or any kind of ebony titlist available?
