This is a custom shurtz cue that I just got the other day...He did an amazing job making it look how I wanted and then even better...and it also plays better than anything I've had... Its replacing my ltd schon as my playing cue... The pictures were taken in my room with a little point and shoot and my lamp...so they aren't the best in the world...

Nice cue. Looks like a new signature too, haven't seen the "Shurtz" in cursive before. Be sure to tell us how it plays compared to the Schon.

cue looks great, just to be sure, what colors are the veneers??
i really like the look and may consider for my next cue

I'm not exactly sure on the pinkish purple... I just asked Mr. Owen to give me the same color as the cue model 349A from his website...For the other 2 veneers under it I asked for double turquoise (I felt I needed two because I thought the pink would overwhelm a single blue veneer).. The pictures I took did a good job of showing the purple veneers as they look in real life...but for whatever reason the other veneers look like a dark blue in the pics but in reality they look like a nicer dark turquoise... You may have to call him and ask if you'd want the exact colors....

Its hard to tell you a difference because I'm using the same shaft on both cues... The weight is the same on both and the joints/pins are the same...the schon is actually a little more forward balanced but I can't feel the difference when playing... I'm not sure what goes into their processes of coring a cue but I asked for this one to be cored because I already played with a schon and I had heard it really does make them play better... Honestly it plays almost the same but I give the edge to the shurtz because it has a nicer smoother hit to it... I hate ss joints that have a tingy hit and my schon was far from being that way and the shurtz is even further from being that way. Overall Its my favorite cue that I've owned so far and I think for a reasonable price you are getting a cue that compares to jensens and sruggs and some of my other favorite cue makers that I've gotten to play with...

the colors are fucia and peacock.

notice the black veneers meet as each point comes together and becomes one with the top black veneer on the next.these are not full splice, but the are done so well that they meet.

how do they play? The best player in the worlld ,Gabe Owen plays the cue,and not just because his dad makes them.Bob Owen is getting better everyday,I have been accumulating these cues for over a year now,and the improvement is visible with each cue.

The cues are reasonably priced becase Bob actually works hard and makes a few of these beauties every month.I don't claim to be the final word on cues, but I showed mine to Denny Glenn in Houston and he kept it and started buying them too,

So they play good enough for the best players, and the work impressses the most knowledgable collector.

Not that they need my recomendation, but they earned it.If you saw my box cues you would be asking for Bobs number,so here it is 1 316 269 3844

I was going to get a cue off BOB and was surprised that he was not at the DCC this year, or if he was I ddint see him.

Real close Dean...bright fuschia and electric blue, I think (hard to tell with a photo sometimes). I love the way the veneers come together in the cue. I agree you get a lot of good cue for your dough with a Shurtz cue.
