I believe they start every year with 301 or something like that. That would make this less than 20 cues made this year. Maybe I'm wrong, I've never owned a SouthWest but I remember someone saying that. The serial number usually gets to 4xx by the end of the year.
i picked up a new SW from Laurie this Jan with a 10 pin in it, so they overlap a bit, I cant say how many cues they build every year(I'm not allowed to) but its over 100 and less than 1000:grin:
beatiful cue, congrats. SW cues never have sacrificed their quality for quantity. The SW story form beginning to current is long and interesting, it aint been easy, Laurie is among the most amazing person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I just cant say what their production is every year because I gave my word I would never tell, and I wont. But I gave a wide range. The number on the pin isnt really a big deal for the cue owner, it serves a different purpose-keeps the counterfeiters out of the picture.
I did have the 7th cue that had a pin# on it, I sold it for 2 reasons, first I needed the $$ bad at the time and second it was the ugliest SW ever. Someone from Germany bought it, I saw it in LA a month after I sold it and the guy who I sold it to, ended up selling it to a German a few months later. So that cue is MIA forsure. Looking back I wish I kept it.
Like I said I picked up a 10 pin # in January, I have another cue comming soon, should be this week come to think of it, I wonder if it will have a 10 or 11 pin number

I ordered a set, I just asked laurie to take her time on them so they would be finished at different times. I really like SW's. I only sold 2 of them all these years,. the other one I sold was out of the very first batch of satins Jerry made(that one I really regret selling, but I needed the $$$), I remember Jerry being reluctant about making one shaft cues that wernt first grade woods(They are still better than 99% of the cues made). I do have some other satins, from later batches that Jerry didnt make, but I decided not to sell them. I thought about it for a while, but if I sold them I'd spend the $$ and never get the cue back they are from 99ish years.
