I liked it. It was fun for me to watch this, I guess because I'm in the APA and there were alot of references to that, very surprisingly Jennifer Beretta had a couple of moments of really good acting. Overall... A fun movie to watch at home if your involved with pool. On the negative her last shot killed it for me. That was the most non happening shot in pool. Still liked the movie tho.

Jennifer baretta was the only highlight of the movie.. She's smoking hot and not a terrible actress but other then that it was a long apa commercial with not much story line lol But I only paid 5 bucks so I'm not all that upset I watched it

I saw a commercial where janette lee said u need to join apa to get the same experience as the pros. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha. I refuse to watch the movie after that. I mean really playing apa to be a pro. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Your hahahahas made me laugh. Thanks

Thanks for the tip... I will not be watching the movie.
I can't believe she sold out and said something that stupid.

And a 100 other pros say the same thing about thier sponsors product. Does " Get a Shoot Straight Cue and shoot like a pro" ring a bell. Most of us would say the same things for the cheese. Johnnyt

Exactly right. She was paid to endorse a product/service it's as simple as that. Earl at one time endorsed a cuetec as well as other pro's, it's just part the game.

I wouldn't consider her a sell out for it.

Well...she was right. At one time or another Professional players done lots of sharking, sandbagging, laying down for a bet, and even lost matches on purpose. And some even cheated.:crying:

So, the comment was accurate. :indecisive:

I'll admit to watching the movie. It was a Valentines day and the hubs and I didn't have much going on. So we decided to slap that dvd in the player.

Even my mother who was barely awake, laughed out loud when Jeanette was pushing the APA. It was ridiculous and un-natural. I concur on the words others have said around here. It's just a 90 minute infomercial for the APA and against battered women. MEH!!!

I lost those minutes out of my life and now I will never get them back.

Anytime you endorse a product that you dont 100% believe in, it makes you a sell out.......The power of the Dollar..........

I have not seen the movie and probably want. If it was a professionally made movie like Color of Money, then I would watch it. I play pool a lot, but watching good movies and pool sometimes do not go together.

But, why do we all gripe that the sport of pool has no money, the players don't make much, tournaments don't pay much, then we also gripe when a company or player tries to get more people involved in pool. While it might be cheesy, pushy, and it may be, I have not seen it, but what is anyone else doing to progress the sport?

Its bad.

I think its time that someone make another good pool movie that compares to the color of money or poolhall junkies.

I think there are differences in those two movies too. Color of Money had a brilliant director, briliant actors, and an A rated movie. Poolhall Junkies was a B movie at best.

We need another Scorsese caliber pool movie....

I've seen it and overall I liked it, I found it entertaining. Granted there could have been some better acting, and yeah if you don't like the APA it is mentioned quite a bit in the movie.

But hey.....I'll confess.... I'm a pool lover and I love everything to do about the game. To me, the worst day of playing pool is usually better than a good day of work.

My hats off to these guys for making a go at this movie. Some will like it, some will not, such is life. They stepped up to the plate and gave it a try though, I wish the pool industry had more people like them.

It's weird, you look at other sports categories and there are tons of movies showcasing heroic comebacks in the big game. The scrappy football team overcoming their differences to win a championship is pretty much a cliche. You can probably find 50 movies that follow that formula.

And it's not just team things either, there's a few hero golfer movies too where it's all about one guy.

But pool movies, the angle is always something else... not about winning The Big Game, more like... someone trying to get out from under a loanshark's thumb, or someone beating the local bad guy who is also a gangster and wants to murder them.

Something about pool doesn't seem to lend itself to the standard sports movie formula. So pool movies are much fewer and further between than other categories. At least pool is hip enough to get some classics. Name one bowling movie...

APA must have been Producers

Sorry but you don't spend a 100 million dollars plus on a 45 year old woman.

Pool plays only a minor role in selling the movie.
The Producers dictate what is said in the movies.

You hire real actors like Nick Nolte and Sean Penn to try and bring in the viewers, in "U Iurn".
Oliver Stone picked a relatively unknown actress Jennifer Lopez to star in "U Turn".

Now I have heard that Jennifer Lopez is hot, she is 43 years old today.

I am going to get the movie, hope it isn't as bad as what folks are saying.

Props for Jennifer taking a shot.
