Just switched to Ultraskins!

So excited to receive my Ultraskin Pros. Was a loyal Kamui SS user for years, but could not continue to ignore my fellow AZers' praises for Ultraskins.

What's the biggest thing I will notice, moving from Kamui Clear Black SS to the Ultraskin Pros?

I think they harden up a bit quicker than Kamui. For at least 1/2 the tip thickness they play terrific. The soft tips play great. Puts as much action on the cueball as Kamui, no mushrooming. I have them on all my house cues and they are a steal for the money.

I still shoot Kamui black clear soft on my player. Next tip change I could see changing to an Ultraskin. They play that well.

The price.

Just in the last 2 weeks I introduced 2 cue repairmen to ultraskins. One of them installed one yesterday and was very impressed, and he is installing one for me tomorrow.

If I was in their line of work, I would certainly use them as they are just as good as Kamui at about 15% of the price. Allowing both more profit margin and less cost to the customer

Mostly cost, not much else.

Based on positive AZB reviews of the UltraSkins I purchased 5 mediums and 5 soft.
Had been using Kamui med clear for about 2 years.
Installed a US medium. The new US med hits just a tad softer than the Kamui.
I like the feel of the hit using ULtraSkins.
I'm sold. Thanks Tom for producing a great product.
The price is right $3.00. AZ members get a discount off of the $3.00.

John ;)

I had a hard installed, but i'm going to have a Med installed this weekend at the US Open, i'm pretty sure i wont notice too much of a difference, i think.

I wasn’t a big fan of the old ultra skins but I put on a super soft pro and I’ve pleased with it’s consistancy. Definitly makes kamui not worth the price now

played today with the new SID or SIB or whatever they are called - had previously only used the black ones. Medium. liked it just fine
My buddy who installed it said they are easy to trim and shape. He is sold on them already and said he is going to use them instead of Kamui unless the customer supplies his own tip

If you get a chance, I would also recommend Tom's SIB line of tips. Great tips, great value.

I am used to using the G-2 soft tip on my normal playing cue, but now that I have a new "toy" with an Ultra-skin soft on it I've played with it for the last two Sundays.

The soft hit great and you can really juice the ball if you have a good stroke.

They are way cheaper than the G-2 tips, but I think they tend to glaze over easier than the G-2 soft tips do. I think they will work out fine for me, but I will keep an eye on them and my scuffer handy just in case.

I want to try some of his other tips that are soft. Which ones are supposed to be the "best"?
