Well Done Jam! You deserve a lot of credit for your efforts! I spoke to Danny DiLiberto yesterday and broke the news to him about Mike and Willy Joplin. He was very sad about both of their passing and wanted me to pass on his best wishes to the family and friends of both gentlemen of our sport.

Barb, I guess I don't understand. If you want to disseminate the picture of the person of interest to as many places as possible, why would you not think it prudent to have a flyer with the picture on it?

We support your efforts JAM. Thanks for caring enough to do the work that so many of us have failed to do. Mike was a good guy and deserved better. Your efforts are appreciated and I will be visiting the site often.

There is more that can be done to catch Mike Surbers murder.
Hi Guys,
My name is John and I live here in Gulfport and have been following your posts on Mike's murder. I am the security technician who did the video capture of the pictures of the person of interest from the video surveillance recorder at Skeeters. Unfortunately, the environment inside Skeeters is very dark and when you have a situation like that, it makes it very difficult to do the captures. I did the original capture as quickly as possible. That was the first set of pictures you saw on the news. It took several days longer to enhance the better second set of shots that were released a few days ago.
I have some suggestions on additional things that can be done to help catch Mike's murderer. From what I understand, most of the leads go back to Atlanta. I did a search on Atlanta television stations and there are about fifteen of them. A good way to reach them is to get as many names as you can on a letter and ask each station to do a follow up with both the old and new pictures. Mail (don't email) that letter and the photos in a packet to them. I have the original digital copies of the pictures that I am sure the Ocean Springs Police Department would have no objection to me supplying for the packet as either pictures or on a DVD. In the process, I would also send a letter and the photo packet to all Police agencies in the Atlanta area and any other areas (Jackson). I would change the letter to specifically address each agency by name. I would do all of the above for any area that this guy has been seen in or might even be headed for.
Something else, this guy has excon written all over him. I'd send a packet to every prison facility in every state he has been in. From what I understand, he did not have a distinct accent from some other area of the country. I believe the fact that he "talks like us" was mentioned so I would send a packet to every prison facility in every southern state fo good measure.
Somebody has to know who this guy is and with computers and the Internet, he will show up somewhere. To give you an example, just Google "billiards, pool, pony tail, and robbery" and see all the links to this case that come up.
Get organized, get all of Mike's friends and family together. Set up a game plan to get the information out. You already have a good start on this and other boards.
I don't know if you guys know what an RSS feed is bit it is free software that will allow you to search the entire Internet for specific keywords on a daily or hourly basis if you want. You know his MO, his description, where he hangs out, what his BS line is, etc. He will do this sort of thing again somewhere even if he does not kill his victim and an RSS feed might pin point his location almost immediately.
I would be more than willing to help you guys set up the technical end if you want.
I have realized is that the Ocean Springs Police are doing all thay can but manpower is an issue. However, by organizing yourselves and bringing the power of the Internet to bare, you just might be the deciding factor that helps solve this case. One thing I will have to do though is run anything I do by them first as I would not want to compromise their investigation.
Just the fact that you are organizing and using the Internet would probably get you more publicity form the news media. Constant publicity is the real key here.

Great suggestions John! We probably want to get these photos to the Atlanta area poolrooms as well. I agree that this concerted internet effort can bear fruit and help find our man.

Is it possible to obtain some video clips of the Person Of Interest walking?
The mannerisms of a person are unique and a video of him walking, turning his head would be nice to view.
By the photos I have seen, it appears that the POI has a long upper torso and shorter legs but I can't be sure. A video or pictures showing his full body would be great.
I like your idea about concentrating on the television stations in the Atlanta, GA area.

I heard today that reportedly Mike's brother is interested in starting a reward fund with several thousand dollars. Presumably a local attorney friend of Mike's will be able to set up this fund.
