Justin Bergman

I find it pretty humorous that there was a comment made earlier in this post that out of Dodong, Kaci and Ruslan the only person Justin could hang with would be Ruslan.

Apparently that fellow did not watch Ruslan beat Dodong 25-4 a few days ago. That was the second time in a few months Ruslan won that match.

Out of those three players, Ruslan is the last guy Justin would need to match up with.

Justin isn't beating any of them.

Saw Justin win two hill/hill matches at the US Open. He just plays, & he doesn't rattle....He has good and bad days like us all. He doesn't often miss his intended target.

Justin is a beast. The main problem with the Mosconi Cup matches are the Americans can’t bring it. Watch him a couple of years ago in London, especially his doubles match with Justin Hall. They played great together, zero intimidation. Mike Dechaine can’t make that claim...

I also watch tons of pool on YouTube. We are so lucky to have that resource.

Justin- I’m ready to do that tattoo for you when you’re ready!

Anybody who beats Chinakhov.....will be charged with ruslan.

James beat him in similar fashion just before that, they play pretty even from what I've seen and that's a lot , playing all games practicing and what not

I'm sure I've said this before, to me it holds water. Magoo's early 2000's John Lewis/BCA and I ran the Jr. Nationals for two years. Jim McDermotts place (not the cue maker). He also owned another room, one of the best in the US for sure. Anywho/Bergman, he was about 14-15 when I first got tah see em, and short. Shane McMinns home court. And the tall guy, who ran the cue tip/lathe booth in house. Great old time tall player, his name slips me for now Bob????. And Jims employees were the best, managers were even nicer. I saw this Justin....swing, his excessive spin, moving whitey 3 and four rails with good speed control. He reminded me of a mini efren, the waaaaaaay he spun his cue ball with (ObviOus Outside) cueing. He was very aggressive and I mentioned it to John. He agreed, but he said to date, ''the best he ever saw, coming thru the Jr.s was Jesse Bowman'' from twin cites.

The cue maker’s name was Mike Betts...could’ve been pro baseball till a knee injury.

From what I see JB hasn't played in hardly any tournaments in the last 2 years maybe 40%. You have to be able to make all the tourns. That's main reasons for not making MC.

Going through old threads there is a post where he says he will play anyone except a few named players.

There are several things I don't like about him, but his heart is not one of them. Calling out the world barring a few players is pretty strong.

What’s wrong with Justin’s stroke mechanics? Every time I’ve seen him play, he seems cue through the ball as straight as anyone.

Stroke straightness is a function of hand-eye coordination, moving parts, grip and pressure of competition. And i will leave it at that. If Justin wanted to improve his stroke mechanics there are some great instructors even here on AZB who can help him. But if Justin is happy with his game then all good :) I am just saying that there is always space for improvement for anyone, even for Justin. ;)

I do not believe there are 50 people on the planet that have watched more pool video's that I have over the last 10 years. With that being said, I think the most consistent American pool player that I have watched is Justin!! The guy almost never misses. I feel it's very obvious the weakest part of his game is the break. It kills me that his backer will not let him gamble against the Pinoy's. I think he could beat most of them to be honest! He is the second best player in the country on a big table.

I wish he had backers like John Mars or Roy's Basement. I would love to see him match up with James Arenas, Ruslan, and even Eklent Kaci. I believe the only one of those matches he would be a slight underdog in would be against Ruslan.

This is a guy who has beat every top American other than Shane. Just from rumor, when Kevin Cheng was in the US a few years ago, Kevin wouldn't even play Justin in St. Louis.

Let's get this guy in more action. He is good for pool and I love watching him play. The first time I ever saw Justin play was at the Rack tournament in Memphis in 2003. He had to be 14-15 and was running racks like he was sleeping.

Have you considered the possibility of backing Justin vs those guys you mention?

Two things could happen. Bergman loses and his backer loses money. Bergman wins and his backer's low hanging fruit action dries up when word gets out.

Justin won't play those players. If I remember correctly, he said that he would play any USA player (except Shane).
