This would have been obviated if you wouldn't have spewed sarcastic, caustic, jivv-ass poppycock because you were "annoyed". Big business boys don't resort to this ignorant crap, esp. if it can be molded and returned to sender as was the case in this instance. Not only can "loose lips sink great ships" they can also terminate wonderfull and worthwhile relashonships. I hope that's not the case in this instance.

Further, taking ideas/designs from other case makers is the nature of the biz. Ever listen to the blues of jazz? This is like Dizzy Gillespie *****ing about Charlie Parker taking ideas from him, and then listening to Charlie Parker getting pissed over Miles Davis taking ideas from him... How many bands have covered Sweet Home Chicago by Robert Johnson. I never heard Muddy waters complain about the Rolling Stones taking their band name from his song. Get over it. You guys(Justis, Barton) are overly pretentious, egotistical pseudo-craftsmen that I hope to never do business with. Sure your cases look nice, and I'm sure they're of high quality... but I don't want to put anymore air into your overly bloated heads/egos.

I appreciate your soapbox stance but the reality is you probably wouldn't be a customer of either on of these guys anyway. You searched around doing background check to buy a sneaky pete. That would be kinda like building a 4 car garage to park your blazer in.

I'm sure your rant somehow makes you feel better and somewhat justified in your position that they aren't worthy of your investment. When in all likelhood you are not or may never be in the market for high end billiard equipment.

again this thread is simply pathetic... you don't know me, yet some want to make judgements based on someones desire to simply research products before purchasing them. My only point is this, I would rather buy products from individuals that represent themselves in a professional manner, and can make comments that make them sound like they are something other than an australopithecine.

John you can claim your cases are better from the highest mountain top. I would suggest a poll would prove differently. The man makes a fine case. If the equipment falls out when turned over well that may a desirable feature that I personally like.

Just like your assessment of me being a piece of garbage because i dont care about knockoffs.:rolleyes: A guy like you can afford to buy all the originals or one of kinds so you dont need to be conscious of your money like most of us.Since i dont have alot of money and do at times buy cheaper knockoff products i guess that makes me a piece of garbage. :rolleyes: Arrogance is a mixture of impertinence,disobedience, indiscipline,rudeness,harshness,and a self-assertive nature.Perhaps you should take some anger management or people skills classes and learn how to control yourself and learn how to talk to people,calling me a piece of garbage was uncalled for,but it comes easy to someone like you im sure. No matter how much money you have you still cant buy class.;)

Believe me I know exactly how Jack feels. I had that same feeling when my designs started getting knocked off. And an even worse feeling when the distributors of my cases started knocking me off and selling them alongside mine. At least Jack doesn't have to fade that.

But Jack is pissed at the wrong person. I have treated him as a friend and a friendly rival in the "how protective should it be debates" over the years.

I was way out of line in my response. As I tend to be a lot. For the offense to Jack on the comments that were not pertinent to the accusation I apologize.

For subjecting all of you to my tirades I apologize.

For defending myself against a baseless accusation I don't apologize. I realize that for some of you I have probably hurt my reputation more with own angry words than I was hurt by Jack's unfounded accusation. I have to live with that and perhaps this time I have learned the lesson.

I thought about leaving and I probably will for a while. I tend to get a little too involved in AZ and neglect work which I am sure some of you can understand. :-)

And obviously I am too close to the subject for topics like this one.

Once again my sincere apologies to those whom I have offended and my sincere thanks to those who have stood with me, in full realization that sometimes those are the same people.

i would urge all az'ers to individually, not as one "unit", to inundate sterling gaming with emails, and confront them with this exact question of wheher or not they are in fact importing these cases. They should also be aware of how one of thier employees has represented sterling intentions to import these cases, to the general public.

It is precisely jb's hypocrisy and complete lack of class which has earned him the distinction of being the first to be on my ignore list.

For someone who claims to be a positive promoter of cue sports, this is one of the most classless public posts that I have seen on this board.

We all have opinions on other posters and people in the pool business, but to personally and blatantly wish ill will to another person in his personal future is pretty low in my opinion.

I'm sorry, mike, that you are not aware of the history jb has created between us. In fact, you need look no further than the grady threads or world straight pool championship threads to find out. I have been attacked, without provocation by him at every possible turn, with the most vile of words. This after I placed him on ignore, in an effort to take the high road and completely avoid him. It got so bad that I have been pm'd by friends making me aware.

I don't apologize for my feelings of anger, and if the opportunity ever arises where I can be instrumental in causing him financial destruction, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I have no clue why you think these are baseless accusations. He posted YOUR email (from you) to another person stating you would be bringing in the Justis knock-off cases, and he could get them from you. You even gave him your number. Perhaps you had a sleepless night, and decided it was wrong to do that, or possibly you got shot down at the other end. We don't know the entire truth. BUT, you DID send a person an email referring them to a knock off case. You called me a piece of garbage during the "knockoff X-breaker" thread, yet all I did was point a person in a direction AFTER Richard was no longer making X-breaker cues.

Intent and Action are two different things. If you got pissed at Jack, go play a rack of 10-ball to cool off. You decided to send a malicious email, intent at doing damage to Jack Justis by promoting a knock-off case. That was wrong. These weren't baseless accusations. Baseless would be referring to an email, and then never producing it.

BTW, at least Jack Justis makes his cases himself.

if you know how jack "feels" in a situation like this, having had this situation happen to you, then why would you go ahead and import knockoffs of his case and start selling them?

Baseless? jbideas??
I have used this lid closure with snap design for the past 15 years. This along with the strap and pad design is also being copied right down to using the same number of rivets.
