guys around here are complaining about Kamui Blacks not being as good as the regular Kamuis.i have heard they are too hard and more prone to miscue, but that is only feedback from a few people.i haven't tried one myself yet and i was wondering what everyone here thought about them.

I have tried kamui brown M, the first time you install the tip it is good, but it hardens quite fast.

Kamui Black SS (supersoft)is a little bit hard already. It might be the cause of miscuing, their hardness rating is different.

Kamui Blacks are harder than the Original Kamui's of the same grade. I like hard tips and I installed a Kamui Black H. I don't have an issue with miscueing. I regularly scuff the tip before I start the day and will always chalk up on every shot.

I have used a couple SS tips. They are no where near soft...much less supersoft. Very similar to a med Moori hit. I'm not ready to cut my Sniper off just yet.

I have the Kamui II and I think it plays very well. I am liking it more with every shot. Durable and well worth the money. Interested in the input on the black as well.

I have been using the Kamui Black S on my cues for the last two months and it is hands down the best tip I have used. Just this week I had three shafts lined up with a Wizard M tip, Molavia R tip, Kamui M tip, Prototype Aramith M tip and a Kamui Black S tip side by side to examine the different hit characteristics and found myself coming back to the Kamui Black S as the best feeling tip.
Reasons:
- Less miss cues
- NO mushrooming and I have installed 5 Kamui blacks so far with this result
- Good sound
- Transfers the feel of the hit to your hand with out dampening it too much.
- Black contrast against white cue ball
- When installing tips on a lathe and using a razor blade to cut them down you can get a good sense of how consistent the leather is. The Kamui Black cuts down very smoothly and is easy to shape yet it isn't a soft tip.

Kamui Black REAL hardness rating - Hard = Extra Hard / Medium = Hard / Soft = Medium / Super Soft = Medium soft

The second best tip for the money is Wizard tips, cuts down really nice and is comparable to the Kamui black on minimal miscuing.

I dont like the kamui black or the regular. I still like the morri. Even they are not like the old ones, still play the best of anything outthere. Havnt tried the wizards yet.

You really should.... IMHO They are the BEST tip for the dough......

Another push for the Wizards. I'm on my 2nd one since Oct., zero complaints from me or my customers. Everyone that has had me install one loves them. This is the first tip where I haven't been tempted to cut it off to try the "latest/greatest" tip.

IMO of course :)

I put a Kamui Black on my MasonH when I got it and I LOVED it. However, I had a layer split and I had to put on a regular Kamui and I don't like it nearly as much. I think the Black was a little bit harder but it was perfect for me.

I have been playing with the KII hard for a long time now decided I wanted to try the Black H and yep it was really friggn hard. I cut them of and put the Black M on and it is the Best hard tip you will ever find. I really like playing billiards with it since I can't get the thing to go flat no matter how hard I punch thru the ball. They take some getting used to thou, as they seem to grab the ball much better allowing you to play closer to Center Ball when you would be used to using Extreme Side English. I have only had one complaint since I started doing blacks when they first came out and yes she wanted me to put a moori back on then she comes back and says this tip is already flat with an hour of play on it she said she wanted to try the Black again so I put one on for free and now she swears by it. She just had to get used to it and that is the biggest thing I have seen with them. It takes some getting used to.
