Kamui Black

I regularly see people here ask what is so special about Kamui tips. This would be the perfect way for Kamui to answer those questions and promote their product. I'd be very happy to volunteer for testing and post a review.

i just got a new schone cue and was looking to "try" out a new tip. Id be happy to test the kamui and give u some feedback. let me know.

what about the white ones? the white ones in the pics are being developed as well?

Hi there,

The white is new news to me.... I have asked the MFG if there is such a thing from your photo. I think this is evidence for all of us to know that Kamui is not sitting on their butts pounding out tips... They are coming up with new things all the time and a chunk never make it out of the research lab. For all we know, there could be a Kamui pink in the works.

Ok.... the latest from the manufacturer is that there are only Kamui Black tips in the works. no Kamui White. As we see in the photo, it may have been the flash to make the white appearance. I can promise this, after the Kamui Black, I can almost count on another tip to follow 24months later. All of us have to understand that if a manufacturer is going to work this hard for us we need to show our support. For example, Apple computer. They just keep making newer and better product. Kamui Japan has the same frame of business ethics.

sweet i am really looking forward to the open of the black tip. by the way i was the one who called you

Hello sir. Are you one of the gentlemen I met who were representing Kamui at this years trade show in Charlotte?

Am not really looking for any more new Kamuis.
I liked the older ones better than the new version.

just got the kamui black in, looks nice i'll know more when i installed it. here are some pics of it compared to a normal kamui:

I recently tried a Kamui medium and a medium soft and cut both of them off. They were too hard for me. I am now trying a soft and will continue to try it for a few weeks. So far I'd describe the hit as bit spongey but I want to see if there is improvement as the tip is played in. I cut a few layers off intentionally when I installed the tip. Kamui quality looks real good, but their tips just might not suit me. Could the "SS" on the black tip stand for super soft?

i think im gonna try it out soon so i'll post a review of it later, my friend in japan is going to send me more later on.

right now he's sending me some infinity red tips, he says they're better than anything he's ever tried and he's tried pretty much every major tip on earth.

Black kamui tip SS stands for super soft. Hit is very hard already. I compare it to a Kamui brown M.

Hennessee doesn't use them cuz they're cheap....

Best results, break it in and shave an eighth to 3/16 off it. Hits like a champ. Did it for J.Hennesse a week ago.

Was using a Kamui II med/soft which I liked a lot. Best tip I ever used by far. Now I have been using a Kamui Black soft and I like it even more than the II. Anyone wanting to try these tips should be prepared in knowing that they play a little harder than other tips rated with the same hardness. This is what I have noticed. I also think that a professional installation is a must.
