Karl Boyes vs Dennis Hatch on TAR??

Interesting. I actually kind of like the idea of this format.

Has a lot of potential who do you pick to be the closer? who is better out of the gate..you have another guy sweating every shot sitting in the chair as your teammate...intense play to get a lead...or catch up....

Different ways you could play it....

First to 25 causes player change for both teams or first to 25 cause player change on team that has reached 25

so

Player A reaches 25 and Player B has 15 switch to players A2 and B2...B2 reaches 50 before A2 and it switches back the downside of this would be the same players playing each other both times...

Player A reaches 25 Player B has 20....Player A2 takes over and Player B reaches 25 with the score 30-25 and then player B2 takes over and has to catch up He catches up and reaches 50 before A2 does and so player A comes back in

Different playing styles...different players...different situations who is the better crunch player...who can keep a lead....

think it could be fun...

From what I know Dennis is something of a prefferential 10-ball player himself.

I don't think Dennis wants Shane in either game. Boyes might actually be even more of a threat in 9-ball as I am not sure how his break would hold up in 10-ball compared to Hatch's.

At the end of the recent SVB/Mika TAR match, Dennis called JCIN while he was broadcasting, and said he wanted to take Shane on.

I think the PPV numbers would be more beneficial to TAR, if Dennis played SVB, then if Karl or Darren played Dennis.

it would be close...

I thought the comment Karl made was funny and not mean spirited at all. He's a good guy and of course entitled to woof as a result of their victory. Of course we know which team barked first lol...

Nonetheless, I feel if Dennis and Karl played it would be closer than people think. Karl does have a world 8ball title to his credit which should be evidence of his well roundedness as a player. And Karl seems like a confident guy and I don't doubt would like to get in the box and prove himself. Considering the context of recent events it seems like an obvious and exciting reason to watch these two players square off!

As for Dennis and Svb, many people have been wanting that one to go off also. If its 10 ball I feel shares break is too much of an advantage over hatch's. If they played 9 ball things get much tighter... in any case someone needs to send this thread to Justin ASAP!

Ok...here you go the best of both worlds...

Two players per team.... Archer or SVB and Hatch vs Appleton and Boyes...

First player to 25 then second player steps in...at 50 swap back...75 swap again...to the final 100.....

Each player puts up 10g apiece...

Winners take all...

I would love to see this format. I think the best would be if only the team that reaches 25 switches players. That way you would end up with a bunch of different match ups throughout the one match.

This would be great to watch and see how the changes affect each team.

Think it would be exciting....multiple matchups thru one match...different situations...one person taking over down...does he go all out of safety battle back even...

Can't you imagine Earl sitting while his partner shoots....

Or Shane taking over 15 down and putting a 10 pack on someone...

Hey just my idea...

Let it be know that I have first dibs on a side bet. I'll take Hatch any day of the week.

who the fvck is dennis hatch. search wikipedia: dennis hatch,
did you mean dennis harrah. lol. def the weak link imo.
Ask tourney champion Darren Appleton, he has an interesting story to tell. BTW, don't forget to butter him up with a comment about how pretty his trophies are...just don't mention the tourney winnings (i.e. cash $$$) because its now in Dennis' pocket.

How about?

SVB and Hatch vs. Appleton and Boyes race to 100. But every 5 racks games switches back and forth from 10 ball to 8 ball. Players will rotate every shot and if one player broke one rack then the other team member breaks the next one.

I see that Karl Boyes is not in Wikipedia either. In fact, when you search his name there, you get this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Boyes
:D Not many modern pro pool players are in wikipedia, actually, which is unfortunate ...being that virtually every other sport under the sun has listings for a lot of their players.

Hatch vs Boyes would be an interesting match... then we'd really get to see who the "Weakest Link" is!

If you guys aren't on Facebook as friends with Karl, he recently posted on Facebook
"Dennis Hatch, you are the weakest link. Goodbye!"

Since to me those sound like fighting words, and both of those guys are friends with Justin of TAR, then we may have our very next TAR challenge match..

Boyes vs Hatch: Moscon Cup Grudge Match!!!

What do you guys think?

As long as they put the gloves on :)

You gotta love Karl Boyes :D

I would however bet on Hatch if they played a race to 100 in 10-ball.

If Darren plays Hatch again, I'm betting on Darren. I want my money back!!!!

IMO Boyes has alot better chance to beat Dennis then Dennis has beating Shane.

Boyes can play, he can break, and he has a pretty solid composure at the table. Hatch does not have to win.

Shane in 10-ball in a race to 100? There are few people who have a decent chance to win a set like that against SVB and I don't think Hatch is one of them. Shane has way too good of a break, runs way too many tables, makes way too many tough shots, and makes way too few mistakes for Hatch.

Want someone who can go with Shane in that long a match for the cash? Better get Busta, Alex, Yang, Wu, Corteza... or... maybe Orcullo, and... hmm? That might be close to everyone that is a coin flip on this planet.

I think your absolutely right. Its amazing that there's not a european on that list and rightfully so. Yet appleton thinks hes better than all the americans. He doesnt have the ball to play SVB.
