kc cues?

I have no experience with them but there were some threads about them if you do a search. One of the replies was KC stands for Komplete Crap.

They are what they are!?

I bought 3 of them a little over a year ago on Ebay for about $35 a piece.

They were just fine for the money -- a cheap beginner's type cue IMHO

However, the thread on these particular KC cues were a bastard style thread pattern that you will find it very difficult to match any other shaft to fit.

I feel that the new Palmer or Adams low end line of cues are a much better value and the pins being used will allow you to mate a Predator or OB-1 shaft or whatever to the butt :)

I purchased a couple of Players SP cues last year that I felt were pretty decent cues for the $$$ for a first time inexpensive cue but, if you can wait and save up a couple hundred $$$ you'll vastly increase your options to find a far superior playing cue!

Just my $.03 ;)

Any word on kc cues all over ebay?

You certainly get what you pay for and these cues prove this saying well. They are certainly Chinese made, and no two are exactly alike, some are not too bad for their price, and others are no better than fire wood. The finish is low end, the shaft wood in most cases is B-grade or worst, and additionally the ferrules are a plastic and in most cases are larger than wood around them. In many cases the wood will have moved a great deal at the joints, some I have seen have shrunk and some have swollen.

Now I have never purchased any of these cues myself, however my experience with them has come from repairing them. Many new players see the words Custom Cue and they buy them because they think they are a real deal for the price. All the problems I have listed above are not isolated problems, but the norm with the ten or fifteen I have seen over the last three years.

I think people must realize that you almost always get what you pay for, but that may not be what you expect. I suppose in the end if it seems to good to be real it most likely is.

There was a guy around here that had a KC and he used to say it was a South west. It was a dead ringer for a SW... from across the room. Once the secret got out that it wasn't really a SW he would say it was a KC but then proceeded to give you a 20 minute explanation of how good it is and how "people who play with South Wests say its really close to the same hit." You couldn't look at or talk about his cue without getting the explanation. He'd even have really good players hit with it so he could (hopefully) get them to say it wasn't bad. I think he bought it thinking he was getting a great deal on a South West only to find out he got burned bad.

I had one of these cues around 5 years ago and it was nothing special. I got it with 2 shafts for $50 and sold it for $75 to someone who thought it was going to be worth a fortune in a few years. The inlay work seemed decent but the wood wasn't anything special. The purpleheart was dull and the ebony was mostly brown with a couple dark spots. The finish was thin and you could just barely feel the rings. It was definitely a SW knockoff. It had all the design elements, ringwork style, points and veneers seen in the SW cues.

If I remember correctly the guy I bought it from said he bought it new off of Ebay for about $125. If you compare it to another brand new cue in the $125 dollar price range its not bad. You've got real points, veneers and 2 shafts. Its hard to find all of that at $125 brand new. Quality-wise though they are your typical chinese knock-off cue so like Craig said, don't expect too much.

I was bored one night and bought 2-shafts from KC on eBay (don't ask me why) the total cost with shipping was about 50 bucks. I gave them both away a couple of weeks ago. Just terrible quality, I don't think they care about what they ship out the door, and they have absolutely no quality control. I will never do that again, and I advise anyone not to buy a KC product for any price.

You can tell by the taper, they can't be SW cues. The shaft is almost house cue taper. poolrod.

I bought one, the shaft ended up warping really bad. Not worth the $35.

i try one long ago when i first playing pool.i found it not a bid cue to play with..but only problem.if you try to do work such as ..shave it down.or change stuff on it..u'll have problem with it..so dont bother with it.

i have 1 of the steel joint ones and its a piece of crap.

the wood-to-wood joint wrappless rosewood one on there is pretty nice. It has a really soft hit and a nice long taper. the things I didnt like were the shaft wood was pretty soft and it dinged very easily and that the diameter of the butt was a little oversized. I prefer a standard or slightly slimmer butt, lol.
