I have noticed every time some body gives some advice or asks a question their is some person on here that posts something stating the obvious or disagreeing with what the person has to say. IN A VERY DISRESPECTFUL OR SMART A$$ WAY..

WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG??

Hey You! Yeah, You, Bozo (I once knew a guy named Fawaz Bozo)! Just because you don't have the brains to appreciate my brilliant commentary doesn't give you the right to tell me what to do! Got it!
And another thing: Your bridge hand reveals everything about you, even those deep, dark secrets that you don't want anyone to know. So, if you know what's good for you, you'll keep that hand in your pocket and out of site of the general public.
Take that!
Shoot safe.

We've already lost a few of the wanna-be keyboard jockeys over CJ and I really don't miss them...

The road is always long and never straight learning this game and for everyone who says there is only a single path you are meeting someone who has closed their mind to the others.... That's one of the huge things about this game that sets it's hook in us...

I played 33 years without ever having someone give me an opinion on my bridges... Lee Brett came thru here last year and we had several players take a group lesson... Based on the fact that I was by far the best player there Lee said before he started to check our bridges that he would expect mine to be at least an 8 out of 10 for stability and when he checked mine I fell below several players that would have needed huge weight from me.. I had 2 options at that point... Call BS and explain why what I did was as good as what he did or listen and try something different....

I think I may be upto a 7 and am still working on it....

When you invest years of your life playing the game and do things certain ways it's really really hard to buy into the fact that something might be easier or better even if situational... Check out the "straight in" thread for a dose of those folks.... Too much invested to have been wrong for so long.....

But this goes to the professionals as well... They exceed everyone on this forum in ability to execute and as such they want everyone to lay down their past ideas and follow theirs... It's a huge chip on the shoulder and most of them don't really give a crap when you try and argue they just tune out and move on because results should speak for themselves but they don't in the world's cyber pool hall.. That's a bad thing by the way because we never get to hear other ideas and thought that have worked on a variety of subjects.....

I never tell someone what they do is wrong simply because it's not what I do... I cinch balls with inside... I have 3 basic aim points and offset the cue when I play... For me these things work but I won't ever say something else won't work better than what I do for other players....

This is a discussion forum.. I would not say "keep it to yourself" unless you are tearing down someone else's ideas... Present your ideas and understand that NO ONE but you has to agree... That's the main problem around here... Some people think everyone else has to be wrong if it doesn't line up with their way.... I tend to think the only people ever wrong around here are THOSE people........

Chris

I think ProZack means there are many people that seem to jump in with mean spirited nasty comments as a put down to the original poster. This sets a negative tone for the forum and detracts from the comaraderie of "pool forum". I find it suprising because who has time for negatives and arguments? I would think it productive to help one another because of our shared interest. The game needs positives to regain interest. You should not post and wonder who will take a shot at it.

hmmmmm, because that's just not the way the internet is.

If you're going to participate here you need to learn how to deal with the smart asses, the trolls, the nobodies who can only gain notoriety by associating themselves with your name.

It's not hard. There are plenty of good people and good discussion to be had here, but you have to be willing to embrace the crazy :-)

Welcome to the internet.

Threads like this happen all the time here and yet, nothing changes.
Best advice to you and the OP is... get used to it.

Lou,

Are we talking good looking female crazy or dirty ol' pervert crazy?

Um, that brings up anudder question, were you talking to all of us or the good looking females when you said embrace the crazy? This ain't your personal dating site you know!

az is a virtual pool room and just like a real pool room there's always gonna be 'that guy' with the big mouth.

But, here, in the virtual room, the anonymity factor provides enough cover to embolden a much higher percentage to be big mouths.

Yep, that's the internet.

best,
brian kc <--- is happy to see his pal Hu from Louisiana chiming in.

There curmudgeons.

I thought it appropriate to use "there" rather than "there" because you used "their" rather than "there"

Just wondering if you see the irony in your post?

hint: the part where you call everyone wrong that doesn't agree with you.;)

lol. Brings back memories. Back at the Pentagon there was a whole little subversive trickle of satiric humor that would make the rounds, very much in this vein.

One year, when I was a 1st Lieutenant, the Wing Commander up at a strategic missile wing made the mistake of asking me to volunteer to be Mister Vice at the Wing Dining In. It was the year CINCSAC attended... I torched everybody. Just didn't know better :-)
