well folks kenny is currently building a cue for me....and what he did was send his personal cue out to several people play with it and see what they like and dont like about it.....i will start of by saying that the look of the cue is almost flawless....i am going to be honest about what i do and dont like about the cue....will list the pros and cons....
PROS...
to start of with the shaft...taper and wood used is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT...i will ask that my cue have the same taper and top quality wood

the joint.....half grice joint played awesome...nice smooth hit like ivory but with alittle more rigidness...

forearm wood....tight straigh grain maple into brazilan rosewood...anyone who knows kenny knows that he has great wood... venners super clean and matched cue great...

butt sleeve....super dark ebony with a grice hoppie ring....nice touch with class.....polished bolt with the KOO logo to add some bling to the cue..

wrap....well you guessed it ee wrap...we all know KENNY IS ONE OF THE BEST AT DOING THIS....so enough said...

butt diamater is really nice alittle thinner than most and fills really good in the back of my hand...

cue had great feedback that can only be described as firm but not to firm..i could fill everything i wanted to and nothing i didnt....after playing 4 good sessions with the cue i finally got use to everything on the cue...

CONS....
this is kennys personal cue so he made it for himself....

shaft is 30in long and the butt is 28.5...i like perfect split cues...so this took some getting use to and i really didnt ever find this to be an advantage for me....but like i said it is kennys player not mine..lol balance was just alittle to forward for me...i like 18 to 18.5 balance point..

grice ferrule had nice fill but i am an ivory man....this is just prefrence for me as i think it would give it alittle softer hit... once again i guess kenny likes alittle more punch than i do....

and tip well.....looks like a moori and nothing wrong with that as it performed as good as any other tip i have played with.....other than A DAWGDUG...

so i guess wraping it all up.....the cue is put together WITH GREAT CRAFTSMANSHIP... KENNY DID AN AWESOME JOB ON THE CUE...he made the perfect player for himself...and with just a few tweaks he will make a perfect player for me... THANKS AGAIN KENNY FOR DOING THIS FOR US GUYS AND CANT WAIT TO GET MY NEW AND ALL MIGHTY KOO.....mickey

Thorough review Mickey.

When I had the pleasure of trying the cue, I enjoyed that stiff hit. And the balance was great for me. But that is my preference.

I'm glad you enjoyed the cue as much as I did.

<~~~~~ on the list too

Thanks Mickey and Chris for your kind words. Here some pics. for the cue you guys test hit with.

Very nice review Mickey. I wish I would have seen this cue in person last June at Little Kennys show but a family vacation kept me from going to it. Very nice craftsmanship & attention to detail Kenny. Also a very nice jesture on your part for letting these guys try your personal playing cue while there cue is being built. Keep up the great work & can not wait to see what you are working on in 2013 & beyond.

If that is an elephant ear wrap I too would love to try the cue.

Did Kenny make the forearm or is this bought from another maker?

Thanks

Kevin

Kenny is one of the billiard communities best kept secrets. If people only knew just how good this guys cues played, everyone would want one. The workmanship is unreal. Take it from me, I have owned thousands of cues.

His wrap work is the best (period, not even open for debate and anyone who thinks they can show me better work hasn't had one of Kenny's wrap jobs in their hand).

The shafts are also the best. I put one on a cue for Darren Appleton to try and he thinks it's the best shaft he has ever used.

The man is passionate about his work and you can clearly see he cares for the finished product. I just hope he carries on doing it.

Just wanted to give my thoughts on this cue. Kenny was nice enough to let me borrow his cue to test it out, while he his building my cue. I can`t say enough about the shaft taper, its perfect for me. Point wood & veneer colors look awesome together. I`m not a big leather wrap fan by any means, but this wrap felt good & I looked for 10 minutes & couldn`t find the seem. Kenny said it was there so I believe him. Cue weighed about 19.2ozs and is well balanced from tip to butt cap. Even though the shaft & butt were different in lengths, the cue played really really well. Altogether this cue was really hard to let go of but I still have one in the makings. Kenny thank you so much for letting me use your pesronal playing cue. It is a great cue made by a great guy. Keep up the great work & best wishes to you & your wife in 2013 and behond.
