I have a guy in my hall right now playing my best player and I need some info on him.

The 2 guys are from Madisonville, Ky and the backer goes by the name "PREACHER"....his shooter is balding...5'10" 200lbs.....and looks like he may be laying down on some games in this 6 ahead match.

Just curious if anyone out there may know who these 2 guys are... I am backing our best shooter and they are staying about even...but I think this other guy may be laying low...

Any info is appreciated

Nope..never knocking anyone's action...just curious as to who he is.

Another pool hall sent him here to play our best guy....talked to the other pool hall and the owner there thought he was laying down on some shots and when the player wanted to up the bet, the owner of the other pool hall wouldn't and they quit playing

I am just curious as to who he is....the guy preacher looks familiar but other than that I have no idea who they are.

I love road players, I think they are beneficial to the game of pool...just trying to get some info.

It's not like our top 3 players don't go by aliases......I am just figuring these 2 left Savannah on Sunday after the 9 Ball event down there and are working their way back to Kentucky.

Just curious if anyone here in the southeast has came across a backer named Preacher and if so, how were they. They are as nice as they can be and like I said, I love road players to stop in, we treat them like kings.

Sounds like Preacher and Mac, they are nice people and they said (not that I believe them) that they were from Kentucky.

Caller ID

Well, I say Madisonville, Ky because when they called on their cell to get directions, the caller ID showed Madisonville, KY.

Our guy won the first set

We are $500 ahead

Now the Kentucky guy wants the same bet on a 7 foot bar box instead of the 9 foot.......my guy gave it to him...we will see how it goes.....

It was Mack Combs and Preacher....and they are 2 excellent guys. Our guy won on the 9 foot and Mack won on the 7 footer. He then gave another guy the last 5 and the break and beat him 6 ahead in 20 minutes....the guy is a bar table wizard.

Another exciting night @ The Hole Thang

It's not knocking action to ask for information. Jeez, what kind of people think that other people DESERVE to be allowed to run around the country giving up false stories to entice other people to gamble?

If a player wants to gamble with me I HAVE EVERY RIGHT to verify his "story" any way I can. I am sure he already has a line on me or he wouldn't be there.

Knocking action is WHEN third party people come in and interject their 2cnts for their own personal gain. Sometimes it is to protect a friend, sometimes it is just to spoil the game, sometimes it is to bolster your own reputation. It is NOT knocking to ask for info on a player. It is not knocking anyone to ask onthe internet. That's what it's here for.

 I don't see any "false stories" in this situation. The road player just didn't offer any info about himself, and I don't see any reason why he'd be obliged to do so.

I walk in and offer you a wager, you either take it or don't. If you want a half-hour interview and a polygraph, go run a help-wanted ad.

I agree 100%. if we can't help each other out here,
why are we here. The Hole said he was betting.
Why support the hustler & not our posters.
JMHO.

That's right. It's my business how, when and why I either take your wager or decline it. I don't operate on your timeline. If you don't like the way I decide to bet then you are free to move on down the road. If you want easy money try robbing little old ladies.

The little old lady i tried to rob ended up giving me the last 2. It just don't work for everybody.=) LOL!!!

Never done?

I just walked in off the street. How do I know you're tougher than a little old lady? Imperfect information is what makes a bet a gamble.

Anyhow, the more you know about an opponent, the more likely you are to talk yourself into losing either money you bet or money you didn't bet.
