Kielwood Shaft Search

Richard is running further behind than that. When was the last time you tt him??
Good things come to those who wait.
Unless you're me, of course.
Mr. No Patience.😂
A lot of us are that way and for those if not now, wait awhile. As the decades start adding up, your patience quota recedes accordingly. This becomes increasingly apparent when it involves a impulse purchase, IMO.

Waiting for mine currently. Due the end of summer. Not calling.

Smart to not inquire….it is what it is,…. It will be a bigger treat once you know it’s shipped and you start counting the days until arrival….please let us know how it turns out. Information becomes more worthwhile when shared, IMO.

We went back and forth earlier.
The only things left to decide on is the lightness or darkness of the stain of the birdseye maple and the color and texture of the leather wrap. Using fall tones for the inlays, yellow, rust, red and black. Cut diamonds and dots are abalone.

I didn’t buy mine directly from Richard. I was lucky enough to find one on the second hand market in mint condition. The color pairs perfectly with my Cynergy X Amber cue!

That never happens to me.
You always get there first.😂

These heavier shafts Kielwood shafts do exist in great condition. You just have to actively search for them and you can find some killer killer deals! Now I have a 2nd Hsunami to match all my big pin custom cues in a nice hefty weight while still at 29” length to keep the balance I prefer

If anyone hasn’t been able to locate a Kielwood shaft that is heavier than most other KW shafts you see, ex. 3.8-4.2 ozs., and the KW shaft is solid wood (uncored) without any inserts to reach the desired 4 oz. weight range, this is very doable but only if you choose the right person to build it.

I’m not going to mention the cue makers that told me a uncored, all wood 4 oz. KW shaft can’t be built without adding weight but I will tell you whom to contact that proved this is a myth or lie. Jim Pierce built two KW shafts for me. It did not take months wait nor he did he tweak the weight adding any inserts. He built a 29” shaft that weighs at least 4 ozs. and my cue case contains the proof. Additionally, the shafts he built play amazing and are handsome as well.

Another builder I’d trust is SCDiver2112 who has successfully built KW shafts exactly as I’ve earlier described. Jacoby Cues also can do this having built two 4 oz. shafts for me that I did not purchase because of miscommunication that led to me hiring Jim Pierce. But they also did it thanks to Tony who runs cue production and especially, Alec (sales dept.).

Contact your favorite cue maker and ask if they could build you a Kielwood shaft like you want made. However, be prepared to wait since Kielwood shafts are built differently than maple shafts so it has to be squeezed into production. If you hear any resistance or comments that 4 oz KW shafts are difficult to build or worse, can’t be done without adding weight to the collar, just hang up and contact someone else because they either can’t build it or don’t want to even try.

I just revealed some cue builders that can build the heavier Kielwood shaft you may want made but I’m sure there’s others.
You just have to take the time to find one or better yet, just contact any of the aforementioned builders I just told you about.
