Kim Davenport's old room in modesto opening again?

i heard someone was going to open kim's old room, championship billiards, in modesto. anyone know how much longer it'll be until it's open for business?

yes, its going to be bigger now, not a tunnel anymore, they have real good GC 4.
 
I heard that there were some issues with the lease. I might be wrong but looks like the landlord jacked up the lease at the last minute (before lease signing). Correct me if I am wrong...
 
I dont think they are going to name it Championship Billiards and from what I hear its gona be a month or so before it opens. I also hear they are going to have a grand opening tournament soon after opening. Its gona be a great room, Modesto has lots of great action. I cant wait.

That's good news Eric, because I heard rumours that were going to use some old haunted Olhaunsen's.
 
The old tables were Rebco's...some of the issues that are slowing them up are construction issues.

they had Gandys when I played there in 85 to around 88.
 
The new owners play poker with me once a week and assure me that it will be open within the month! Championship Billiards was always an action place, Breaktime Billiards will be as well.................Marc

i thought those tables played well enough. but from what i hear after knocking the wall down they're going to have a snooker table put in
 
The old snooker table that was in Davenports place was purchased by the new owners its an old Brunswick 10ft...im sure there will be lots of action on that thing

Sweet! Gotta take a lil road trip to Modesto and check it out. Sounds nice. Be really great if they could get Davenport out for the grand opening.

it was a existing pool room they took ownership of about 18 months ago. Its a big room 20,000sqft. 2 bars, full kitchen, cue repairs, everything else too. They have alot of league players 4? nights a week. Its a very good room for sure. Kim runs it day to day, JA goes there once a week when he is in town but he has been on the road ALOT this year! Biz is good now that it got cold, this summer was tough for them like EVERY pool room this year.
 
There will be 7 Gold Crown 4's.....10 Gold Crown 3's....4 to 8 7ft.Diamond tables. The old snooker table....A grill and deep fry for cooking fresh hamburgers and etc...
They have knocked out the store next door to expand the space and I think it is 3700 sq. feet...
They plan opening around Dec. 15th ...Of course it could be a little later....???
Also a private room is planned for parties and gambling....
It is called Breaktime Billiards.....Kim is not involved....
