Lack of interest for Bonus Ball

I just spoke with a couple of people who ere watching Bonus Ball this afternoon and thyall said the same thing. "Where are the fans?" There are about 10 people at the arena, we know that a percentage of those fans are somehow related to the players or to bonus ball somehow. So how many are actually there because they want to be. I heard but didn't actuallysee it that someone was on a cell phone andthe ref asked them to leave. Do their numbers dropped by 10%. Peopl should not be on the phon at the event thatis true but there has to b a way to handle it different since you don't have thatmany there to start with.

Once the novelty wears off how many are actually going to show up to watch??

If I lived in LV I'd certainly go see it. Great chance to see many top players.

I would think they are putting up posters in local pool halls...

Las Vegas, like said many times was by far the worse choice for this venture.
Why would people want to go see bonus ball. There's all the best shows in the world here. Best restaurants. And the local pool players, well im sure they would rather play a $10 nightly tourney. They are just not going to go spend an evening at the BB studio.

I see only one way BB can succeed and its definitely not the course their on.

I'd definitely go (and will) if in the neighborhood. Either that, or golf, or lose all my money and morals.

The arena really looks amazing. Makes me almost wanna think about choosing a new profession.

Are the locals going to these best shows and best restaurants every night? I would think that to the locals, Las Vegas is just the town they live in. Going to a great show or restaurant costs a lot of money. So I would think the average pool player would be just as interested in going to see free BB as they would be to show up to see the pros in a local tournament.

I'm done waching Bonus Ball

Well I watched 5 Bonus Ball matches and I will not be watching anymore.

The freeze ups and untimely commercials were the final straw.

Show the damn commercials during a timeout or if no timeout is used then at the end of the game. Not in the middle of the game.

Oh, and when one of the announcers said "and there's (bonus ball girl who's name I have already forgotten) working hard" as she places a ball on the spot. Give me a break will you.

For those of you who enjoy this game I hope it works out for you.
It's just not working for me.

Hell if they held it in Greensboro it would have been standing room only! Gate City would have worked or they could have gone to The Brass Tap and had packed the place. NC is pool & golf heaven!!!!!!!!!!

For alot of locals in Vegas I am sure they feel that way. At the same time you can go to the strip, watch the water show at the Bellagio, go to the Lake of Dreams in the Wynn and watch the show there for the price of a drink, do some window shopping in Caesars, eat a relatively reasonable priced meal at many of the middle range restaurants (I had buck a shuck oysters in a pub at the Forum Shoppes the last time I was in Vegas which is cheap anywhere you are).

In "normal" cities you go to the mall, you go to the happening part of town that people hang out in to have a drink, people watch, just enjoy the atmosphere. Vegas simply has a better area to do that then any other city on the planet.

Well nomatter what anyone says about the location, venue or the game. Its pretty obvious that people are not showing up to watch in droves. So there is something alittle wrong. Not sure if its the game, the lack of positive marketing or location but we know this much. Nobody is there. What does this tell us?

It's all 3. They have had the wrong people running it from the get go, in all aspects PERIOD.

I do not think that the live crowd is what they are counting on. I agree the commercials are annoying and the few freezes also but I assume that it is because it is free. I will be giving it a ppv try and then decide if it is worth continuing.

A couple of my Buds that I play pool with left for Vegas on fri.

My one Bud mentioned that he would like to see some Pro Players. I gave him the address to the arena and said that all the Pros are in Vegas at this time. You'll see them at the arena or Pool Sharks after possibly.

Maybe they took in an afternoon there. Neither of them care for cell phones much so I doubt it was either that got asked to leave.

poeple who live in vegas avoid the strip

Bonus ball should be more like last years Mosconi cup in England. The fans are what made that so enjoyable to watch. You could feel the energy of the crowd thru your computer screen.
No one wants to watch complete silence anymore! Bonus ball needs excitement and the crowd is the key.

It's not a matter of if they are counting on the gate a th actual event. Its a matter of "Does anyone care enough to go" Also it i a matter of the presentation. You need asses in seats, cheering, clapping and looking busy. I hate to compairany othersports butif you went to a Knicks v Bulls game and there were 200 people there in that big arena the atmosphere would be crap for the people in attendane an watching on tv.

I think part of the problem is the game itself. I've never played BB and I'm sure a lot of other people have never played it either. In regard to that it's tough to relate to it even tho it is still pool. If I went to the BB arena it would be just to see the different players and watch the different styles of play. I think the marketing needs to be tuned up a little bit with more player/fan interaction somehow. The game needs to be appealing to the masses and the masses don't play BB so the angle has to come from somewhere else. Create a story line, player interviews, tips from the pros, a trick shot segment, zooming into the announcers every once in awhile, etc.

Nathan did say they were doing a "soft launch". I have not seen any advertising besides what has been talked about here and from their Facebook page. It was on one news channel in Vegas. Maybe it will get better once they start advertising.

For those of you having issues with the live stream freezing, I suggest you try a different web browser. I use Chrome with ZERO issues. Saw Marc Vidal watching yesterday on a Macbook and there was no freezing either.
