LAMROS CUES Is it true ??

For years I have been hearing that Lambros cues are the best hitting cues made...Many say even better than a SouthWest....I have never seen one or hit with one.....Any opinion's out there on Lambro's cues and the hit ????

I think my Lambros is the best hitting cue ever. He just made me a laminated shaft with a special taper that hits, well... dream-like (picked it up on Saturday... "WOW").

However, cues are like putters and everyone's playing cue is the best they've ever played with... you know how the story goes.

I don't think I'll ever shoot with anything else.

Seems lately there are a lot of "best" threads on here lately: "best" hitting cue, "best" player between two choices, "best" tournament format, etc. etc.

Everyone's style, flavor, preference, priorities and other personal things go into what makes something the "best" for them, what is best for them might be the worst for you. You are going to get a lot of people saying that THEIR cue is the best, whatever it is, I've been around for a while and haven't seen too many players/collectors with Lambros cues.

For a while he was sending them overseas to China and Japan when the market was strong for American cuemakers but now I don't know, his cue are great hitting for sure and the joint he makes is very unique (though pointless in my opinion).

My Lambros will be the best hitting and nicest cue ever made, better than my SW or Gina when I put it up for sale. :D

To each his own my friends...

Different strokes for different folks...

Opinions will most definately vary on this subject with no end.

Play with what YOU like and you'll always be satisfied and happy! :)

I'll take my B & D over anything else I've ever hit a ball with though, but that's just my opinion.

Keep in mind that Mike makes a number of different joints and shaft tapers and those different combinations won't play all the same.
I still say no from my personal experience.

I think you're confusing him with someone else.

Hey Art,
The hit of a Lambros is kind of unique but you will not find a Lambros that hits exactly the same all across the board.
I have hit with one and loved it...
Also, I have with one particular Southwest and I have not found a cue that actually played and hit like that SW I owned, so... It is very subjective... You might get one and might not like it, but I still prefer the stiff and balance of the hit of a very good Southwest.

I know a guy in PA whose cousin works or did work with Mike. He was the one who told me about it.

Mike has the ultra joint and then the new and improved ultra joint and has a regular flat faced joint as well so yes, he does have different joints available. The hit of the ultra joint is pretty darn sweet.

Yes, Lambros cues out hit all others in my opinion, If you haven't hit with one, make a point to play with one for 1/2 hour or longer not just 2-3 shots. And with a standard shaft and shaft taper, I've had people say they didn't like the lambros they tried, but it had a predator shaft or a 12mm shaft on it.

You can't compare Lambros's hit with others, there in a league of there own, I prefer the 3/8-10 pin personaly.

I just retired my Southwest for a Lambros. The cue has a vey unique hit because of the unique pin. I'm sure some people don't like it but everytime I let somebody hit with it I see that look on their face like holy sh-t that was sweet. I already received several offers for it, but I truly believe it will be my last player.

Barry Szamboti and Bill Schick make the cues that are the best hitting in my opinion.

That said, I was blown away with the first ultra joint Lambros I used. It had an ivory joint and may play different than typical, but wow, what a nice hit.

Everybody's got an opinion, but I think most would agree Lambros ultra joint cues play very well.
