landon shuffett vs earl strickland match

Not to turn attention away from Earl, but is Landon really interested in pursuing pool as a career? From the little I know about him, he's an excellent student and active in other endeavors.

And a glimpse of Earl might be what he needs to study biology, or whatever.

Another thought. Pool is an "in your prime", "develop your skills early" kind of thing. Perhaps Lando and his family have considered starting with pool, then, if necessary/desired, fall back on the other options later.

I like the end of the match:

Earl: You know what won you the match right?

Landon: Yeah I know.

Earl: When that ball skidded. I made it, you know what I mean?

Or it could have gone like this...

Earl: You know what won you the match right?

Landon: Yeah I know.

Earl: That easy 10 ball in the second rack. I missed it, you know what I mean?

Efren has come as close as anyone to totally dominating pool in the manner of Willie Mosconi.

After watching this match, I totally believe that Landon Shuffet has the potential to dominate like Mosconi did.

As far as the nick goes? I liked one said by one of the announcers;
Lando the Commando...

I missed the early part of Efren's career. I wasn't really into pool like that yet. It would be so cool to watch something like that with Lando.

thanks for the greenies.

they said Landon's pursuing college... can a guy manage college and still have enough hours in the day to practice the way he probably does (for hours at a time I'm guessing)? I hope so. Either way he should go. He could become one of the mythical pro-speed players who has a regular job with good income.

Education is not a fall-back option for Landon. Education is Landon's primary focus and that makes him one of the smartest pool players on the planet.

No drugs, no drinking, healthy living, great attitude, a true sportsman, an athlete and some of the best pocket billiards skills in the world at 18 years of age. That's Landon Shuffett.

That says it all about Landon's pool playing. SPONSORS: LANDON Shuffett has opened the window.

yes, it began about 25 years ago!!

This kind of sickness I know. :-)) . But when I saw him play I had the impression that he was in bad mental condition. I like him very much. And he would have been a perfect loser if he just had congratulated but nothing else, no more words and no excuses. But this also shows me that he wasn't well balanced mentally.

A person can get an education and still be a champion.
Steve Mizerak, Nick Varner, and Mike Carella are three examples.
I think Babe Cranfield and Harold Worst may qualify also.
Dick Lane?....I'm sure there are many more.
