Larry Nevel Vs John S What Ya Think

Wow, *drama queen*!

So Suprnva, if this match takes place, two questions:
1. You giving odds, if 14.1 is not one of the games?
2. How much are you willing to bet?

**** you Tom. I don't know what you're ****ing problem is with me but getting on here for the sole purpose of talking shit about me is really ****ing pathetic. You don't know anything about me or what I've done or who I've hung around with so you have no right to talk shit about me. Your post is pointless and you have no valid points. Like you said, you haven't been around Larry in quite a few years so you know nothing about who he's tried to gamble with and who he wants to gamble with. I however have been around him. I was there when he asked Shane to play. I was there when he asked Stevie to play. I was there when he asked Cliff to play. Hell, I was the person that called Bobby Pickle for him to try and make a game. Trust me, I know more than you think.

Here you go sprnva, important figures in history

Larry's break is much better than John's and almost everyone else's for that matter, but over the course of three days I cannot imagine that Larry can hold it together. I have seen him play a ton and not once have I seen him make it through a day without at least one obnoxious match. BTW I speak from personal experience with the guy not just sitting on the sidelines, so don't give me some crap about crying about s#%t from the stands.

The games might slightly favor Larry, but the format is made for players like John, Alex, Bartrum, and others more well-composed and grinding than Larry.

The only problem I really see in an all-around is Larry's prominence in one pocket which John himself has attested to. It might be more fair for both to negotiate a spot in one pocket and straight pool to equal out. Without this, I sincerly doubt the match would ever happen.

suprnova is from a small town and has never been around top players for long period of time . Larry is his "idol", so he thinks he's the best. On a talent scale larry is a" lock" ,but last i checked having the most talent doesn't mean your going to win! I personally have staked larry a few times and seen him in action more than mr.suprnova. larry is not a top gambler because of his attitude . Actually, larry is not easy to get to play. He'd rather tell you" that guy won't play me" or " he wants too big of a spot". See as good as larry plays he never learned how to lose. I know that sounds funny but what happens when a top player losses ? most of the top players I know want to flip it again . not so much with larry . his ego can't take losing, it's like he gets embarrased instead of letting it go. Now I haven't been around larry in quite a few years but i did play him in a little tourney about a year ago and when I started beating him his attitude was horrible throwing balls, slamming his cue around ,talking just loud enough so I could here him while I was shooting. Suprnova when people are gambling for big $$$$ it's tough enough they don't want to sweat the BS also. by the way the tourney paid 230$ for first place! larry beat me and looked ridiculous while doing it.
IMO this is about as true as anything I have read about Larry. I live very close to him, and have watcched him play many times. He reacts very childishly at nothing, slinging balls and slamming his stick against the table.

I have never seen him attempt to gamble anyone. In fact, Rachel A told me personally that he would rather work for Jimmy Reeves for $300 a week than play a $300 set when he has the nuts.

You can't blame the guy for stealing all the tournaments around, but I would like to see how he fared if he attended more events like the $25,000 added Joss event in August, the Desert Shootout, and the other bigger tournaments in the country. When Shannon first started his tour, he was having 60+ players every week. Now he is lucky to get 32. Some people say that it is because Nevel wins every tournament. But again, one can't blame Larry for playing.

He's a great player, but I agree that he is afraid to say that he lost to anyone. And I feel that this keeps him from his full potential as a player. I think that until one isn't afraid to lose, he can't really know what winning is.

If this game happens in an all-around (which I doubt it will), I'll take rail-bird action on JS. If, by chance, he loses... I'll still take railbird action on JS. I like JS in the long-run.

The door is open if Larry wants to play. One stipulation in our matches is no BS though. A little barking is fine maybe even a heated exchange (I am looking at you John :D) but the whole throwing balls and sharking stuff is definetly a no-go and would not be allowed.

I have talked to more than a few players about playing Nevel and the general consensus is "It is not worth the trouble". I have never met the guy or seen him get out of line but he does have a really bad rep for his attitude when things swing against him. But what better way to change the rep than play live on the web in front of people and show them different?

I have said it before and I will say it again, if Larry is interested in playing a TAR match just have him call me at 317-531-5035 and we will do what we can to put something together.

It couldn't be any simpler than that!

I got Larry to gamble once. At Grady's last big tournament I emptied out my wallet ($40:D) against Larry that he couldn't beat the 9-ball ghost in a race to five on the 4" pockets.
Ghost - 5
Larry - 1

Don't say he has no gamble:D

I'll take Alex P.

Lets keep the all around with one-pocket and ten ball on the big table. but lets use the 4-8(like mosconi) for the 14.1(and see how these guys compare to the older players.) And somehow lets get the 5-10 ft snooker into the action. For all the older americans who played snooker, and the brits here and the english, and get John warmed up for Q.H.)the snooker champ. Sheeit Fat boy will be ready soon, he'll have a few friends warmed up on the snooker table as well)) my dime mark

Where you at Supernova you got what you wanted J-Cin responded. You are a joke get off larrys NUTS he is a basket case so what he can crush the balls when he breaks WOW, he can draw the rock 30 feet WOW, but if you say i bet you a dollar he folds like a deck of cards. He may play everyone you said SVB:eek: Stevie, and Pickle but that does not mean they are scared to gamble with him they dont want to deal with his shit. Pull your nose out and smell the roses Larry is a great player no doubt but his rep has ruined alot for him.

I would love to see john s. vs larry nevel in the next all around action challenge....what does everyone think?

feel free to your input on this john or larry...I know you both post here

Match them i like Larry in all other game but that 14.1 my 2 cents

I think it would be a great all round match. I've only seen small signs of sharking from Nevel. Most on here regular know I like his game. But JS is a champion. No matter how you say the game goes you have to figure in they both have strengths. I would say if this match could be worked out I would do what I could to come sweat it. I just like to see people getting involved and suggesting match ups. It shows interest and thats what brings in sponsored dollars. Action Report is doing good things for pool with these Action Challenges. Thanks guys.

Those pictures were awesome!!! There are a few around here that worship Larry like that also. Those that really know the inner workings of Larry, know that he is a great talent, but that is the only good thing about him.
