las vegas open

Yes, that's the one, Russ. To my recollection, it began at about 1:00 AM after a long delay caused chiefly by Chang's equipment problem. I watched about two thirds of the match and went to sleep at about 4:30 AM. The next morning, I discussed the match with Jeremy Jones, who had been the commentator, and he called it some of the finest pool he had ever seen played. An interesting sidenote is that Chang had beaten Filler in the Bigfoot 10ball final earlier in the week.
Oh, no doubt. Filler put on a spectacle, shooting circus shots like they were absolute hangers, and seemed absolutely immune to the pressure.

And what's crazy? Filler prolly shoots about half a ball better now.

4 years ago Joshua played T-Rex a long 1p match getting 9-8 and in the end ran over Tony 21-17 after leading 19-13 (it was 11-10 after day1). I think that match proved already that Joshua is capable of beating almost anyone in 1p even without a handicap. I wonder how they would match up even nowadays?
The Filler/Chohan match from Roy's Basement in 2020 was not a handicapped match; they played even.

I thought they just remodeled the Rio?
It was the same way at the west gate . We were there for acs. I don’t mind paying for good food But over $60 for breakfast was out of control and that was just the start of it. It used to be at least affordable in Vegas to eat and now even that sucks. between getting married , work and pool tournaments we have been to Vegas a lot and we agreed waiting for our plain that if we never go back to Vegas we are good with it. I could have spent less money on a cruise and had a much better time.
All the major casinos have become "take off" joints, designed to get as much of your money as they can, on or off the tables. Stay off the Strip and you can duck a lot of these excessive charges. At least the Rio does not charge for parking yet. Look online, there are many other options where you can stay with no Resort or Parking fees. You can go elsewhere for meals as well. Last year I stayed at a motel on Paradise Rd. that offered a discount buffet breakfast ($12), no resort fee, free parking (I drove) and easy access to the Strip. Nice room cost me about $70 a night (with frig and microwave). I took the monorail to Ballys for the WSOP each day and rode Uber coming back at night. $6 Monorail, $12-15 Uber. I bought snacks at the 7/11 nearby and kept some food and drinks in the frig.

The only bad part it was in the midst of a Summer heat wave (over 110 every day - SWELTERING!) and I didn't win any money playing poker. At least they had a pool at the motel and good cable TV. On my days off from poker I stayed indoors or at the pool.

The monorail was right out the door and that was great but you can’t really leave to do that in the middle of playing and the west gate had nothing inexpensive. I tend to like to stay where I’m playing so I’m not carrying my cue all over the place or can take a break at the room. I think if I remember correctly the cheapest meal was at the sports bar. 2 slices of pizza and a beer was like $25 lol they did have food back at the tournament that was less expensive but it was terrible. We had fun one night on freemont street but besides that we both over the vegas experience

The way things are there now and with the way they have messed up traffic on Las Vegas Blvd. I feel the same way. I told my wife this might be our last trip to Vegas. The corporations that own just about everything and the LV Convention Bureau have made a mess of things. Shame on them!

the highlight of my wife’s trip is always eating at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant. I love it to. We ate at ramsey fish and chips. It’s right by the high roller. . $90 for 2 beers and 2 fish baskets lol and we had to stand to eat. Boy did I get hosed lol normally love his places but never again.

Not to take anything away from herr filler, but he was living on that table and Tony flew in, lovingly planted a little cash into Roy's garden and left.

The table is a little unique.

Agreed. I saw it all and Tony got manhandled and didn't have to bet a lot either!).

Wrong kind of pool for us, Mr.!
