It was a great event orchestrated by Pool Maestro supreme Mark Wilson. If we had a Mark Wilson in every city in this country, our sport would be growing by leaps and bounds. A little disconcerting to read the hurtful words on what should be a celebratory thread.
I have a little experience owning and operating poolrooms myself, twenty two years worth, and I cherished every customer that walked through my doors, RICH OR POOR! Without them I would have no business and I did not differentiate between the big spenders and those who might only play one hour at day time rates and drink a single coke. For that reason I had a loyal customer base that gave me a good living for many years. Pissing people off is just plain bad for business and when I see an owner or manager doing it I know they are not long for this business. Bad news travels fast, as does good news!
At the same time I always reserved the right to refuse service to anyone who I deemed unfit to be in my establishment. I did not want disruptive people around my good customers and I let them know that. Carry on!![]()
The real teacher, man.
