I don't think learning an aiming system has made anyone great, nor will it ever do so. All the so called greats who use systems were great before they ever started using them, with exceptions for those who were very young and bound to improve anyway. You see, if you are young and somewhat talented and spend enough time at the poolhall, you can get good doing any nonsense at all (within reason). But those are not the people who buy aiming systems, are they? The people who buy aiming systems are league players stuck at a mediocre level (for the most part).
This thread has been completely derailed by long winded nonsense. So here is the skinny:
If you are an adult male/female of 20+ years, have been playing for a long time and are not improving (and you suck), then I'd not suggest an aiming system for you at all. You need a full overhaul of your stroke, stance and alignment and to revise your game. You are doing stuff wrong. That's the truth. No magical aiming fairy is going to transform your game. It's going to be a lot of work, so you'd better be motivated for it.
You are shooting the wrong shots, your stroke is terrible and your alignment sucks (either of those or most likely a combination of all of them). I can say this without having ever seen you hit a ball, because pool is a very honest game. The balls tell no lies. You no run out, you no shoot good. If you can't reliably run out games of 8 and 9 ball on reasonable tables then that should tell you more than anyone on here ever could. The one exception is that you may be going blind. There is no cure for that.
The people who sell you DVD's are preying on your gullibility and your dreams. Of course they'll tell you the pros have a secret they're holding back from you! It can be all yours for 80 bucks...L O L. Good players have talent, they practice the right things. When you are randomly hitting balls or bullshitting with your friends, Shane is hitting breakshots over and over and over again. That's what being a pro means.
