LED Rail Sights

Figured i'd do something a little different with my table. The diffusers are hand made out of some 1/2" lexan and the LED's are nothing too special, just some stuff i had lying around my shop. I should be installing these hopefully on monday, depending on shipping.

heres a few rough mock-up pics, what do you think?

I've seen those on one other table, but it's been so long ago I can't remember where I saw it. I think it's a cool idea in a club or a bar or something, especially with a strobe effect. For serious players though I don't know. I'd have to see the finished product.

Good luck with the project though, and post pics when you're done. I'd like to see them!
 
the plan is to hook them all up to a dimmer for desired brightness . . . even when off the diffused lexan sights look pretty good against the black rail. i am soooo bummed to hear this has been done before, but am still amped to get it done.

Finally got around to getting the ball rolling on these guys, and got a bunch done to the table itself. All i'm waiting on to get them wired up right is propper resisters. I ghetto rigged a rail up to get an idea of what the finished table will look like, and here's a few pics. Sorry about them being a little dark, the flash really washed out the blue glowing through the plexi.

thats my ghetto ball return :grin: the old one was all kinds of rusted out so i gutted it and started fresh. it looks pretty rough but does the job just fine.

mr. penguin - thanks for all the ideas, everyone that sees the rhino-liner paint job loves it. i'll be ordering those rails and some felt from you very soon.

And there done! Got them finalized about a week ago, laid some carpet in the room and built a matching light box for the table. I'm hoping to have the table playable just before x-mas . . .
