lessons from Stan Shuffett

I've heard Stan is the man! I plan on possibly getting some lessons from him during next years Derby. I've heard nothing but great things about him from great players. I think he helped out Louis Ullrich recently if I'm not mistaken... You should go for it, can't go wrong in my opinion.

Hell I'd take lessons from Landon.

What's he been up to lately? Haven't heard much about him.

Experiences? recommendations?

I too have heard nothing but great things about him. We've met a couple of times at JOBs and DCC and I do plan to take a session with him soon.

You can't go wrong.

jim

Thank you all so much for your encouragement. I have been playing for about a year & have learned all I can from books & watching the pros on youtube & ESPN. AZers have also been extremely generous with their knowledge on this forum.

I agree with Blackjack. Stan is a great instructor, and a really nice man to boot! You can't go wrong with taking lessons from him! Good luck!

As far as Landon goes...he is a straight A student (a requirement by his mom and dad to continue his pool 'career'), so he spends his time in school! Landon also knows that pool is not the only thing in his life...he's a very well grounded young man.

I took lessons from Stan. I feel I got my money's worth in the first two hours of our two day course. Stan is a great instructor. I would say nothing but great things about him.

Stan and his family are wonderful people, and he is extremely knowledgable. I think it's evident watching his son play what a great coach he is.

I took a quick 2 hr lesson from Stan over the weekend. I was traveling back from a family gathering and called him to see if he had some time. He said he did not usually teach on the weekend but he could make it work this time.

He taught out of his home on a very nice Diamond which was tight but not rediculously so.

I wanted him to help build on the stroke fundamentals that I started with Scott Lee. He pointed out a few very subtle items and then we reviewed some other aspects of the game including my straight pool goal of running 41 balls.

Every item we covered was approached from a pro point of view, how do you do this now was his response to most of my questions basically he wanted to know my system. About half the time he got a blank stare right back from me because for alot of things I have no system just feel from years of play.

Stan seemed to have a system for all of my how do I do XXX type thing and I was only there a couple of hours. I hit 99.8 percent of the balls and he just kept pouring knowledge, thoughts and systems in and I have not quite recovered yet.

He is definitly top notch and I will be visiting again when I next go to Ky for my annual boat trip. I hope to get in most if not all of his foundation course, currently I am trying to figure out how to schedule that so I can get it all in in one trip.

Family, Work, Projects does not leave alot of time

Stan Shuffett is a great fellow & vary capable Pocket Billiard Instructor. His abilities are plainly visible, through his son, who is a champion. If you have the natural physical talent, Stan can assist you in refining your abilities.

I am enrolled for 5/26-5/27 I am so excited to have the opportunity to study under a master in his field. I hope that I will be worthy. Thank you all for your encouragement.

ceebee...It doesn't matter whether you have natural physical talent or not. Any qualified instructor can help someone learn or refine their abilities.
