i grew up watching my dad play with this cue
brunswick, that he bought for about $15 for his 15th birthday in 1951
he gave it me when i was in high school , 1970's

i broke the joint , kept it for years and years
when i really got into pool , in the 1990's, i had it repaired by dan trogden
i still have it, someday i'll get around to converting it

Here is one that I just finished for a customer and good friend. The cue was converted from a early 1900's Brunswick Balk Collender one piece house cue.

Here is a set of 4 butterfly points disected by 4 sets of spliced points. These points are dead even with their own set. This cue is in process by Smithlin and is being made for a player in Scotland, Additional inlays are yet to be inserted.

you shouldnt be
i love the old brunswicks
the one on the left looks identical to my dads that i posted pic of
it does have the brass pin in the shaft, i assume?

Not really a "butterfly cue" per se, but this one has some incredible butterfly inlays between the points.

Check it out....the ivory butterflies have ivory veneers too, plus all the inlaid wood veneer strips within the ovals in the butt (not engravings) that gives the appearance of a decorative glass window effect. Matt at CueAddicts owns this one and it is one of Andy and Vicki Gilbert's most elegant cues to date imho.

Yes you assume correctly. I am very proud of that cue. I found it less then a year ago in a antique store. I was able to talk them down from $25 to $19 dollars. I never get over finding a great deal on a great cue.
Here is a better pic of another cue like yours and mine.
