Another chapter in my life is about to close and another will open. As most of you know, I'm in the US Air Force and also own Zim's Rack on the side. As of June 15, 2005 I will have completed my obligation to the USAF and will NOT be re-enlisting. I have decided to go back to college full time, and concentrate a little more on Zim's Rack. That includes teaching, cue repair, sales and the Gateway Amateur 9-Ball Tour. Finances are going to be a little tight for the next couple of months, that's why you may see some cues from my personal cue collection for sale.

I will be attending Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville and majoring in Elementary Education and possibly working at the Billiards/Bowling Recreation Center on campus. They have 12 9 footers and 12 lanes. Wish me luck and I plan to stay active here on AZ Forum.

Thanks to all for your support in the US Armed Forces, to all that have and continue to serve..... our troops need it at this critical time!

Congratulations Zim and I salute you for a job well done in serving our country.

I look forward to bumping into you on the "road" some day.

Good luck with school and your pool career as it starts anew!

I'm certain that with a possitive attitude, you'll accomplish all of your dreams.

Don't I know how that goes.... Good luck with your future endeavors, Zim!

I got out of the Army in '99. It's definitely a change, that's for sure.

Best of luck to you Zim. I have nothing but the utmost respect for those that actively defend our country, especially if they play pool! May your pursuits in life be fruitful.

Did the same thing 34 years ago and can't say I regreted it. You'll probably find your increased maturity a huge asset when you return to school and you'll learn more than you ever would have straight out of high school.
I hope you stay with education the world needs more good teachers, we'll see if the commercial world drags you away or not.
I very sincerely wish you the best of luck!

Good Luck, Zim. Hope things go well. I know you must be anxious, but too, there has to be a bit of excitement on a new chapter starting in your life.

Thanks for your service to the USA and for your friendship thru AZB. I was once an elementary teacher, but couldn't take it no mo'. PM me if you would like to hear more on that!

Zim,

Thanks for serving, and good luck to you in college. After I got out of the Marine Corps, college was definately interesting. Noone wanted to take the early classes (except me), and it took the 3.5 years for me to convert to the early bird motto to midday classes for partying reasons. Your character will definately be an asset in your future college/life experiences.

Be proud for your past, and look forward to the future!

Zim

A thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service to our country.
Wishing you and yours the very best in your new life.

God Bless the U.S.A., a place where a good new life is attainable.

Truer words have never been spoken/written.
Best of luck Zim and although it can be a little scary leaving a sure thing, there is no doubt you will be a better human being in the long run. Do well in school and I look forward to hear how things progress for you on the outside.

Regards,
Koop

Zim,

I feel you man. I'm in an 18 month program to finish up 2nd degree before my enlistment is up, which ends in April 07. I hope to find a decent job here in the DC area (preferably a government job).

I wish you the best of luck! Keep pressing onward and upward and you will be a success.

Best luck,

A fellow SSgt...

Matt

One question ...

Why are you going into Elementary Education? That's kind of like Playing Pool for a living, isn't it? 10-12 years down the road, you'll be asking yourself,
"Why didn't I go into something else so I could make a decent living". Especially if you are feeding a family ....

Hi Zim, good luck in you future endeavours. I have only the highest regard for the great job our air forces are doing to keep us safe. Their professionalism is beyond compare. My Granddad was dropped by the RAF over Peenemünde in late 1942. Luckily he returned unscathed and they did make a fulsome apology, so no harm done eh.
