ok masonh, LBM , thanks.

I can see two good products, but what is better for built ferrules and butt cap? LBM or Ivorine-4?

I want material strong and chalk resistant, clean and no dirty.

- LBM road ( http://www.cuestik.com/store/product.asp?ITEM_ID=5792&DEPARTMENT_ID=67 )

- IVORINE-4? ( http://www.cuestik.com/store/product.asp?ITEM_ID=5903&DEPARTMENT_ID=67 )

I'm don't know anything about building a cue but I know that Ivorine is NOT chalk resistant. It has more pores than my nose.

to me LBM is much better.it is half the weight and plenty strong.i am sure some like ivorine-4 better but i don't like all that weight up front.

for Ferrules we use LBM, no better material I believe.

For white joints/buttcaps, we use ivorine 4, love the hit/feel, how clean it is depends on your cleaning process, and finishing process. Sanding ext....

if you dont know anything about building a cue maybe you shouldnt answer in the ask the cue maker section, and read replys like your suppose to. This isnt the ask the know it all mother ****er from anywhere on az section. We should have a block as to whos aloud to respond to threads on here.

Trent,

That is pretty rude. This is an open forum, who cares. If you don't like what someone says in general, ignore it unless they are speaking to you business or reputation.

There is no need to hurt someone's feeling who is just making a statement.

That stuff gets dirty just looking at it. I stopped using it for white joints and butts when Juma came out.

Sorry Rick but i dont go the the table mechanic section and give advice or statements about questions asked there. same rule should apply for ASK THE CUE MAKER its not ask the general public.

the real funny part is that i didnt look at the dates and its from 3 yrs ago lol

but the point is still valid

if your going to post replys in here it should be a cue maker/builder or repair person as per the title of the section. If it was for everyone to answer it would be the main forum.

And lets be honest the only reason your busting my balls is becasue i said you were charging a re-donk-u-less price for your ferrule material in one of your other threads.

Trent,

I have no ax to grind with you. You miss the point. Being rude to other people for no reason is not becoming of you. You could have said it in a nice way. Re-read your thread. Are you proud to have your name and business associated with vulgarity like that.

Those ferrules are expensive and you have the right to make comments. If you would have said that I was representing a false statement about the material's credential, I would have had a private PM conversation with you without the vulgarity. Don't assume you have the power to read my mind or thoughts because you are dead wrong.

I have sold over 30 ferrules and not one person complained about the price. I have also given discounted prices for larger orders. I paid a lot of money for that rare material 5 years ago and my prices are based on a key stoning price point model which is a general business principal. If someone does not like the price they don't have to buy.

The following quote is extracted from the posting rules of this forum:

"
Although anyone can participate in the thread’s discussions and ask questions, it should primarily be the experienced cuemakers who provide the answers. It might be appropriate for non-cuemakers to give some input on occasions. But that should be the exception instead of the norm."
